Yes, that’s it! Looks like the two existing instances are both in Mandarin only, and federation hasn’t been fully implemented yet.

I believe NeoDB is the only one in the works currently. But unfortunately I’m unable to find much about it in English, as it’s being developed in Mandarin first.

It sounds like they’re going to be allowing anti-LGBT hate speech, which was formerly a ban-worthy offense on their platform. Reddit and most Lemmy instances have rules against this, so I imagine Squabblr is going to attract the same sort of people that like using Truth Social.

The great thing about Lemmy though is that a community you interact with or even moderate doesn't need to be on your instance. If you're a member of Beehaw, which doesn't allow community creation, you could start your Dune community on Lemmy.ml or another instance and moderate it with your Beehaw account.
