I have tried nearly everything. Chili powder or black pepper only works until the next dew.

The only thing that worked for me to cover the whole garden was special grains made of wood and black pepper oil. You can throw it around the garden and it last one or two weeks.

For raised planter bed, I put nets originally used to cover trees for birds not to eat the fruits. It can be cut to any size and cats don't like to walk on it. Some issues :

• it's fragile. You need to replace it after one or two years.
• plants go through the net. It's hard to remove then.
• once there was a tiny bird in it. I found it soon enough for it not to starve.

• Webedia is a big company that owns most of the famous French websites (jeuxvideo.com , etc.). All these websites have cookie walls with an alternative : a paid subsription. What they say, is that the website is now accessible with subscription only. However, if you accept cookies, you'll get a discount (free access).
• The CNIL (a big French governemental entity) tried to forbid this. If someone reports a website, it's for this entity to take action. There is no need to report Webedia, the CNIL knows already :-)
• The Conseil d'Etat (juridical entity of the French gov) said that "non", it's OK for Webedia to use such paywalls. The CNIL can't forbid Webedia to use them.
• The CNIL asked the jusrists at the European level... here we are. We still don't know.

Ils sont très technophiles. J'ai déjà relu des publications de recherche rédigées par des chercheur en informatique de la BBC. Il s'agissait d'une analyse utilisateur sur la perception de l'image. Si je me souviens bien, ils en tiraient la conclusion que la course à la haute résolution était vaine et qu'il fallait plutôt améliorer la résolution temporelle (davantage d'images par secondes).

Et puis ils font les Micro:bit. C'est génial comme truc pour les enfants.
