I was really looking forward to another Arkham style game. Sucks for me that they decided to go in another direction. Doubly bad when that direction (live service co-op) is one I couldn't enjoy even if I wanted to (and to be clear, I don't).

If you're not doing anything crazy, there's no reason linux should be any harder to use than Windows.

Once you're up and running, daily life will be pretty straightforward.

Plenty of great advice in the other posts that I won't rehash. One thing I didn't see mentioned is using a live boot to try out linux. You can basically run it off a USB stick before you install it to get a feel for what it's like. Most "beginner friendly" distros will have tutorials on how to create the live disk. Example for Pop!_OS: https://support.system76.com/articles/live-disk/

Is that game still the poster child for toxic gamers? Been years since I played but I would never let my kid play that game.

It's sad because it is pretty fun when you get into it and when you have people to play with. But it really only takes one person to ruin a match for nine other people by trolling/feeding/etc. I ended up quitting because it was just WAY too toxic.

The shit people used to say in that game... like nothing I've heard in any other game. Literally talking about

spoilerraping people
like that's somehow acceptable shit talking. Curious if it's gotten any better... it certainly couldn't have gotten any worse.

Agreed. Especially considering how good (and available for purchase) the F150 Lightning is.

It's funny, as often as I see these posts about free games on the Epic Games Store, I still have absolutely no desire to ever install or use it.

Well they can't make EA any worse, right? Right??

This is an "expansion" not a "DLC" according to CDPR. It's a lot bigger than your normal DLC. Up to you if you think that's enough.

I think it's also a chance for them to try to find some redemption. Journalists have a lot to sink their teeth into with the whole meta story of the game so I think that might have added some encouragement.

There's a sucker born every minute. You might want to read up on that "game" before committing any money to it.

Not sure how old your kids are, but mine are 7 and 11 and I would definitely NOT play BG3 with them. If it were a movie, I don't think it would even get an R rating given all the sex and gore.

(To be clear, not judging the game. I quite enjoy it. Just don't find it appropriate for my little ones. Caveat emptor.)

FWIW, I had a lot of fun playing thru Portal with my son. No official co-op mode in the first one, but the second one has it and it's pretty old at this point so should run fine on older machines.

So it's basically https://www.nytimes.com/puzzles/spelling-bee but without the hand-curated answer list?

I get kind of annoyed by what words they decide to add or leave out on a given day. I feel like the hand curated aspect makes it feel like major BS when you think of a good word that isn't valid and then you see "woot" and "psht" or shit in other languages as valid words.

Fun fact: worked perfectly 100% fine out of the box on my Pop!_OS linux machine. I recently switched to linux (after trying every few years for the last couple decades) and I love that I can finally play games like this now!

Katamari Damacy is one of the greatest games of all time. It's a shame the creator doesn't get rewarded more for it. Definitely looking forward to seeing what he does next.
