The correct response is "suck it and see"

I think everybody in most jobs/positions should have the opportunity to learn and grow. This is "just" a moderator and some leeway should be given, IMHO.

If it happens again by the mod, and if it becomes a "regular" thing by several mods, then the guillotine should be used frequently and without trials.

I don't think I've ever seen this brand in Norway... Hennig Olsen and Diplom is have the market cornered for "ice cream on a stick".

IKEA furniture are not bad at all. 40 years ago or was a standing joke, but the quality has quintupled since then.

You can of course buy the cheapest of cheap in IKEA and it will be less comfortable than the more expensive ones, but couches from IKEA are good.

Hell, most other furniture brands delivers their furniture flat packed as well. It's just easier to build IKEA since they have gotten the instructions down to a t.

When I saw the story about furniture doctor here the other day it just seemed so dumb. Buy flat packed furniture sand assemble it on your living room. Or get the furniture doctor to assemble it, then you don't have to cut it open with power tools....

In short - IKEA and Wasa ftw!!

It's always projection with GOP. They are only behaving morally because they believe they will be punished by God / society of they don't. Meaning they have little to no moral compass beyond potential punishment.

So naturally crime would go down as kids are scared into submission early on. Brazier everybody has the same moral behaviour as them....

Early termination fees are not that horrible. They can give you a monthly cost where some of the costs for installing it might be distributed over they contact period. Fine and ok

But i should still be able to cancel my contract without jumping through 11 loops and queues.

If you sign up for a given contract, that's what you have agreed upon. It sucks if you only have one option and they can set a ridiculous price. So if you want to regulate pricing, that's a different matter. Cancelling is something else altogether.

Well... How do you define what a group of ppl look like? Are all Japanese of the same descent? Can an immigrant not become Japanese? How would this play out in the US? Only native Americans could represent the country? Or are you inferring that a given number of years must pass before a new skin tone can represent a country?

The state can of course intervene. Happens quite often when essential workers go on strike like medical workers, law enforcement and if teachers go on strike for too long.

So you can in theory go on an indefinite strike, but the state can swoop in an decide what the new number is. In Norway we can it "tvungen lønnsnemnd", which can be translated to "forced pay agreement".

Nobody wants this, but it happens. In some occupations more than others.

The fuck? Where is your limit then to purchase power Vs donating to those less fortunate?

I mean, if 40k USD is your limit, what about housing? Boat? Would it be ok to have ten 4k cars? Two 30k cars?

Can you rationalize drinking that imported beer last weekend when you could have given those 15 bucks to a homeless guy on the street?

I mean, arbitrary set a value point for a car as excessive creates more problem for you and your ideal then not having that limit. At least the Buddhist monks who give away all their worldy goods to focus on meditation are consistent.

This is the quote:

"I don't see any scenario where they're responsible for less than 10% of the value destruction, so around $4 billion."

In my head, he is comparing the minimum size of ADLs value reduction to be 10% or 4 billion. 10% of 44 billion is 4,4 billion. In this comment he is not saying anything about the current value except that 10% of 44 is around 4.

How else can you read it?
