From another article it said that they have 12 months to fix their violation. If they don't comply by then the EU can issue the fine.

All the more reason to rename the function from block to mute so that users don't get a false sense of security.

"Vergewaltigt? Was heißt vergewaltigt? Frauen tun immer so, als würden sie einen gewissen Widerstand leisten, das ist normal", äußerte sich sein Parteikollege Janusz Korwin-Mikke vor einigen Jahren.

Ich glaube, dass ist mit eine der ekelhaftesten Aussagen, die ich in letzter Zeit gelesen habe.

Yes even if they backpedal no one knows if they don't try something again in the future. So everyone who can switch to a different engine should do so.

Edit: This isn't about this specific game in particular! The point is that install folders are just disappearing when they shouldn't.

I have just installed a non-steam game right after a fresh re-image of SteamOS. Genshin Impact is the game in question. At first I added the installer .exe to Steam as a non-steam game and successfully installed it. The next step would be to add the launcher .exe as a non-steam game. But I couldn't find it in the 'Steam/steamapps/compatdata/[random numbers]/pfx/drive_c/Progam Files (x86)' folder like expected and just installed it again without thinking twice about it. This time I could find the launcher.exe and added it as a non-steam game.

Now I could launch the launcher.exe through Steam and installed Genshin Impact from there and chose the C:/Program Files (x86) as the install location (from a weird Windows looking directory chooser). The game downloads and installs successfully and I close the launcher. Now the next step of the guide I'm following tells me to switch back to Gaming Mode and launch the game. I do that and it immediately closes again. I go back into Desktop Mode to see what's up. Maybe it just can't launch in Gaming Mode, but in Desktop Mode it behaves the same and closes immediately. To investigate I navigate to the installation folder again and see that the launcher installation has completely disappeared but the game itself is still installed and after adding the GenshinImpact.exe as a non-steam game I'm able to launch the game without problems.

But my question is now, how do I prevent this from happening? Why does a folder just disappear? Again I'm on a freshly re-imaged SteamOS and this is the first thing I've done before setting anything else up.

Any help is much appreciated!

Notes: This is the guide I was following to install the game

As a side note: In the video the guy is just right clicking and selecting 'Add to Steam' in Desktop Mode when I do that it just opens the dialogue window to choose the file I want to add to Steam instead of adding it directly. Is this a setting or something?

It gets even weirder: Just now I wanted to rename the as a non-steam game added 'GenshinImpact.exe' and upon clicking into the text field all input fields on that interface just cleared. Of course I wanted to add the target again and what do I see? Nothing. The game just disappeared. What the hell is going on?

To be clear I'm a beginner and I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the information I found and not completely sure if the information I found is up to date or outdated and I figured I would just ask here to get some clear answers.

What I want to achieve:

  • have TrueNAS Scale web GUI and installed apps like Nextcloud or Photoprism be remotely accessible
  • have that remote access be secure
  • use my registered domain instead of the IP address of my server to access the TrueNAS Scale web GUI and the installed apps
  • don't have certificate warnings when accessing all this over HTTPS

Can someone explain to me how I achieve this or point me to a guide that walks me through it? I appreciate any help I can get.

I already managed to setup Tailscale and managed to access my server through that but then I got stuck on how to set it up to use my registered domain name to access the server.

So the next thing I tried was using the DynDNS of my Fritzbox but unfortunately it seems that Cloudflare (where I have registered my domain) does not provide a "update url" which the Fritzbox DynDNS GUI requires to set it up. This was to use it in combination with port forwarding and Wireguard (this is the guide I was following: https://www.wundertech.net/how-to-set-up-wireguard-on-truenas-scale/)

I also found this guide: https://notthebe.ee/blog/easy-ssl-in-homelab-dns01/ but that's for servers without TrueNAS and I don't think I'm experienced enough to transfer it and apply it to TrueNAS.

So yeah, I'm overwhelmed by information and I need help.

I have installed Komga via the Apps menu on my TrueNAS Scale server, so far so good. I created a user account on Komga and I see the UI of Komga but that's as far as I get. When I go to import and open the file browser I see this:

I recognize the linux directory structure but where is this coming from? Where do I put my comics so that I can select them there?

I'm very new to selfhosting as you can probably tell. Please help me.

Edit: Ok I think I figured it out. I didn't set a mount path for additional storage, after setting this up I can now see my comics folder under /home

I have recently upgraded my SSD in the Steam Deck to a 1TB one and created a 300GB Windows partition on it to be able to play Genshin Impact. So far so good, that is working as it should.

Before upgrading I had the 64GB model and used a 512GB SD card. On that I had Diablo 4 installed and it was working perfectly fine. But now I'm unable to get it to work again. I can't remember which Proton version I used but pretty much any version I tried (including GE-Proton ones) is not working now that I'm trying to install and run Diablo 4 on the new 1TB SSD.

Did anyone else experience something like that?

Edit: As long as I'm in Desktop Mode I can add the "Battle.net Launcher.exe" to Steam and launch it with Proton Experimental and I'm able to install Diablo 4 but as soon as I go back to Gaming Mode the Battle.net launcher isn't starting anymore.

Ich finde es sehr gut, dass dabei nicht nur das Gerät an sich, sondern auch die Software, die ggfs. auf einem Gerät läuft, mit berücksichtigt wird.
