I recommend Fedora. It's user friendly and nice to use.
Lemmy will be getting a new, more modern UI sometime soon.
It is being actively developed and you can even try it out today: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui-leptos
This community was included in that spamwave a few months ago. I saw a few CSAM here. We had to lock the entire community down to deal with it.
That spamwave at the time was happening in the entire fediverse btw.

You are in germany, so you will need to wait for GNU Taler for that:
No decentralization atm.
Yes, instances can defederate with each other. lemmy.ml defederated with lemmynsfw.com, which is why you don't see these posts.
You can try my instance, discuss.tchncs.de, as far as I see, they federate with lemmynsfw.com.
Do refrain from joining big instances, like lemmy.world, as they are currently dominating the Lemmyverse.
what does peanuts4life want to tell us?
why and how would it even work??
If the headline sounds interesting I'll read the article.
You know, revolt exists. Matrix is good but it isn't the same experience as discord. Revolt is a pretty good open source copy of discord.
