The dynamics of the CCP are really fascinating and widely misunderstood. Mostly for political reasons people I’m the west these days try and portray Xi as someone with absolute power but that really isn’t the case. Not to say that it’s a democracy or anything.

I’ll take less content if it spares me the indignity of letting guys like that win.

Fines aren’t near enough at this point, we need public executions at a minimum to put a dent in this problem.

The pessimism comes because the overall trend looks bad, and people feel alienated politically and just in general.
