Car stereos.

They used to have buttons and tape decks and cd players in em. From the factory.

I don’t want to do a complex install of some aftermarket thing. I want a car stereo with buttons, knobs, a tape deck, cd player, am/fm and aux input that looks like it belongs in my cars interior and is designed with the same ideas as the rest of the cars controls.

It’s worth noting that gold plated connectors are not snake oil. Gold is a good conductor and doesn’t form a nonconductive oxide layer. That means it’s going to be more durable and won’t corrode together or apart like those old ass sheet metal tube sockets that all need to be cleaned.

Upgrade. It works perfectly fine and when it doesn’t figuring out what’s going on learns me something and several times has resulted in fix commits to the packages.

E: there’s some people saying they do clean installs on Ubuntu. They’re right that ubuntu breaks shit all the time but I’ve solved that by simply not using the bad distros.

It lets ppl describe late capitalism without using those words or even knowing that’s what they’re describing.

Were stuck Don’t Look Up style in a cycle of trying to find a way to explain and enumerate the things happening around us without pointing to their precursors even when we remember them from our own lives and experiences.

Call the devices secure erase functionality.

here’s how to do it to sata and pata devices

I don’t do some of the checking and testing in that article, I just do —security-erase-enhanced and unless it fails it’s fine.

You could also encrypt the contents and delete the key.

Because you’re not expected to have a home life that takes precedence over work anymore.

Rotating shifts sacrifice the employees everything to reduce staffing and training costs.

This comment section is astounding.

If you think it’s good that congress passed a ban of a social media platform tied to a bill funding two foreign wars you’re either a fed or delusional.

You’re a cyborg agent for a new branch of the federal government formed in response to a terrorist attack on us soil tasked with performing extrajudicial acts in order to keep access to the treatment for a pandemic under government control.

In the opening cutscene the governments response to the pandemic is revealed to be “let it rip” for profit.

It’s a phenomenal game and very fun.

It’s shameful that I feel the need to preface this by saying that I’ve used Linux for 26 years now:

The consensus is that it’s a massive cost increase rather than savings.
