RCV doesn't need 2 rounds for this. Neither does approval voting.

This is not a problem with voting that needs new ideas to address.

I never claimed they would use non-voting as a signal for anything, only that they count votes as agreement, not mere tolerance.

Peertube is a federated option, and while it's primarily meant as a decentralized replacement for YouTube, many instances include the ability to stream live. https://video.infosec.exchange is the instance I use, but you might benefit from using a larger instance or one that shares an administrative staff with any other ActivityPub-connected things you use (e.g. lemmy.world).

He read Maus but took the wrong lessons from it?

Maybe some investigative journalist should check with Stormy Daniels?

I think Bernie is just being pragmatic. But, that might be giving him too much credit.

I agree she's better than the only viable alternative.

We really need to replace FPtP and the Electoral College. Approval voting is pretty simple, and would improve both the primaries (if kept) and the final.

It's an argument against a license that permits relicensing under a more restrictive license. (E.g. BSD)

I dislike exercising, I often have to "parent" myself into starting, I have to fight the urge to stop several times during a session, and I almost always feel worse immediately after. Sore, tired, sweaty, or various other uncomfortableness, and I haven't found a recovery activity that erases that temporary badness.

But, my life when I'm not exercising has gotten better, and it's at least partially due to the exercise.

I finally deactivated my account after I heard they were turning on Grok by default.

But, I hadn't tweeted (switched to Mastodon) since Elmu mass-banned journalists for retweeting public information (jet location when near an airport).

I know some non-fascists are still getting good use out of it, but I can't participate anymore. I keep hearing that Mastodon is letting too much abuse through to marginalized people -- even more than Twitter -- though. So, I don't know what to recommend for microblogging.

Depends on who you ask, but I think most far left would say they are going for communism of some stripe.

I want heavy taxes on the wealthy, UBI, universal housing and healthcare, and much more regulation. I want higher union membership and more co-op business of all stripes. I don't want a central, planned economy. (I have many other not directly economic concerns.)

I'm not often accused of being far left, these days, but I have been called a communist in the past. I consider myself a democratic socialist.

I "upgraded" to a new Pixel last year because I thought the battery on my old 4A was getting wonky (and I have not had good luck with doing battery replacements). At the time, I did not know (enough) about the Fairphone, and I could not find a new Pixel with an audio jack (maybe I didn't look hard enough?).

I'd like to go back to having a jack. I do have one scenario where I want to use well-fitting BT buds, but I can do that on any phone. I want wired buds that I don't have to charge, can switch between devices in 0.5 second, without interacting with any software, and don't have misbehaving touch controls that trigger when I brush my long hair back behind my ear(s) or shoulder(s). In fact, I still have a set of completely dumb buds that I use for my work laptop that I'd love to be able to use with my phone -- don't need noise cancelling or controls of any kind. I really hope that I can find a phone with a jack next time I do an upgrade. I don't care if it is thicker, I'm gonna stick on Otterbox (or similar) on it anyway.

I was also concerned about security, but full-power BT is fairly secure now. No one can "drive-by" and monitor or replace the audio; they have to get you during "initial" pairing.
