It might help with depression and anxiety. Definitely not a cure (take your meds!), but spending time in nature, exercising, and mindfulness do all show some benefits for mental health
Is Hasan Piker really the biggest voice on the political left?
There was a time when I was worried about changing people’s minds and trying to see things from their side. It’s not worth the effort any more, at least for me. They’re dug in and want to argue, but they aren’t open to changing their minds.
I don’t feel like it’s my responsibility to tolerate their hatred to try to explain why they should care about people that aren’t like them. I’d rather spend time with the people that I feel safe around and know aren’t bigoted
Jesus fuckin Christ. What a clown car of moronic yes men
I wouldn’t say either party are the “good guys”, but the Republicans are the worse of the two, and it isn’t even close.
I, too, enjoy being investigated by the USPIS
Very true. And more easily said than done, unfortunately.
I used to be much more into meditation and reading Buddhist literature. I reflect on that time in my life as being happier and more peaceful (I was also exercising a lot more then too). I’ve started going to a yoga class a few times a month, but I wish I had an easier time getting back into the rest of it.
It usually makes more sense to pump water to a nearby reservoir uphill. That water can be released back through turbines when solar production is lower - pumped hydro are basically giant batteries. So not so much pumping it back upstream, but a similar idea, just without expensive desalination.
Not a saltwater coast, but the Ludington plant on Lake Michigan is a good example of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludington_Pumped_Storage_Power_Plant
There was (is?) a subreddit called /r/onebag that might be like this. It was sort of minimalism taken to the extreme of condensing your possessions to a single bag. Definitely some overlap with the digital nomad community too
I suppose this is public information, but it feels more like targeting a specific individual than gives me the warm fuzzies. It’s normal for a large nonprofit to have paid positions to coordinate with donors and such.
