After the API exodus sure got worse but I don’t see much difference from the reddit-before-that

Also, there are still a looot of power users still on reddit. So yes quality got worse there but it’s not like the bests came here anyway

Sad tho.

“Random” events of “evil”. Basically I think we’ll never reach something like 0 murders, 0 rapes, 0 stealing for little greed and so on. Or even 0 addiction (edit: i'm not including addiction to the previous list of crimes, i wanted to add it as another class of issues for we will never reach a true 0)

We are very very far from the ideal situation tho, there is a looot of margin of improvement

Like your alcohol thing in the post: ban only makes it worse and still now you (as US, not you OP) have a very weird relationship with alcohol with the thing that minors cannot touch it and people have to drink from a paper bag lol. Let’s say that you are not really trying hard to improve the situation. We’ll never reach 0 alcoholists but society is not in a good shape and alcohol is cheap so ye

I’m not sure I’m explaining myself well enough.

That was my point since the beginning and you are not the first one repeating it lol

Free as in freedom not just as in beer

And paying for distribution is not the same as paying for the software…

Sorry but how is it ghosting? You tried more and more to contact him and he didn’t answer? Because if no one contacts the other is just idk end of something not ghosting lol

You wanna talk with him about this stuff? Do it!

And don’t put on him all the “immature” or “receiving side” stuff, you are the one clearly into him but still going around and around never being direct…

You can do it! 🤜🤛

B-Corp. But as long as they don’t show any kind of sustainable business model compared to their costs, ye the result doesn’t differ much

Rimu I love your approach to mod tools!

Sorry if I ask this but now that Lemmy has extism plugins, wouldn’t it be better if you tried to extend lemmy with your python skills rather than keeping to build from 0? Would help the fun even more I think (?)

Apparently the forum systems you mention do/will indeed support ActivityPub. There would certainly be potential for interpretability with the threadiverse, then

Yes, there is also a working group specifically about “threadiverse” (even tho the lemmy devs don’t like the term)

Hence why my question :3

Hi! Another question about lemmy development.

Is lemmy working towards functioning more with discourse, flarum and nodebb federations?

I think that mastodon kinda fucked the fediverse and having a costellation of linked forums is much more powerful than microblogging so i'm interested in using lemmy as a forum more than a simple link aggregator

Games can be one of the nice forms of entertainment like tv series or films, so i'd say yes.

Just try to look for really good games, like zelda breath of the wild, bioshock infinite, twelve minutes, sayonara wild hearts and so on. No online games, no infinite games, no games that are more like a job than a game (where you have to grind for everything) and so on. Games that let you enjoy the gameplay, the art and the story without making you feel like ''oh i have to login or i lose the fit and i have to get the daily rewards and bla bla bla''.

Hello stranger I just wanted to let you know that I’m sorry that you got downvoted so much while being right lol

There is still much work to do :-)

Hi!

In the Apollo app (basically the reason i started using reddit and the reason i also left reddit lol) there was a very useful feature: friends.

It was not a mutual friendlist like facebook, and not even much of a follow like twitter; it was more a ''favorite users'' list.

Basically I added in there people that always commented stuff I was interested in and this helped me find new communities and interesting post without relying on other discovery ways. Seen the decentralized nature of lemmy, i think it could be even more useful than on reddit.
