I really wish some large government would order that all hardware manufacturers publicly released any source code used to make the hardware run. I think there are some real arguments you could make for the benefit of the economy if that happened. A hardware manufacturer can still lean on selling the physical parts even if the software can be copied, and the software can be tailored to their hardware making it harder for it to apply to their competitors. I'd actually like to hear others' opinions on that too.
I don't understand your numbers but yeah, I am not exactly happy about how things went down.
Hey, I didn't play myself, over a hundred thousand Americans played me.
And we now have an entire country open to talking about how much they want corporate executives dead.
I'm genuinely impressed. I might even risk the blow to my mental health to see for myself.
Edit: yeah, holy shit, there's a couple people going "jeez you guys are nasty. I didn't like him either but still" and the rest are treating the shooter like a national hero.
I would simply prefer my car didn't have any screens at all. If a new car just powered off the screen while not using the backup camera it'd have my attention so fast.
I mean, they did give an earnest try at preventing a king from happening, and it did work for a couple hundred years.
I can totally believe that he didn't know about mastodon, but even Bluesky is like a reasonable platform. Threads... I see literally no upside to using threads. It's on a timer from the beginning to turn into another X. Just look at how long Facebook has been a cesspool of Nazi propaganda.
It really boggles my mind the cognitive dissonance of everybody constantly complaining about corporations screwing them over, then refusing to use the obvious solution to their problems.
I can't believe how fucked this is. Social media isn't always the healthiest thing, but banning it? I was hardly allowed to leave my house as a kid, i have no idea what i would've done if i couldn't talk to my peers online.
Care to explain? If I make something that inherently has copyright, then if you copy it I can take action.
