To be fair, comparing to Reddit, Lemmy is still niche, let alone LemmyNSFW even nicher. However, without downvotes some communities lose track. Without growing bigger, I do not expect to see some niche NSFW communities here which are already niche on Reddit. With more posters Lemmy shall grow, does not matter if it's slowly, but it should be steadily.

Ability to downvote is an important part of these communities, it's a self control mechanism. I surely don't want to block some users just because I don't like some of their posts, downvote should suffice.

Now this is a type of post I would downvote. Obese-fetish doesn't belong anywhere, it's not healthy.

It's definitely not the culture but a loud (and jerk) minority. You may even meet someone obsessed with downvoting you, when you see someone like that just report them. It's sad to see you going, but we need to stick together if we want this platform to get bigger.

I hope this is temporary until we get a tag feature because downvotes is a self-protection mechanism if something that shouldn't be there posted on a certain sub. I was already seeing such posts and now we don't have downvotes to repulse them. This will just lead to increase in unrelated posts or even self ads.
