in 2016, an attempt to overthrow Erdogan and his religious-conservative administration was foiled

It was not a secularist coup. It occurred because of Erdogan's disagreements with his former Islamist partner, Fethullah Gülen.

I don't understand those who criticize Lemmy developers. They were developing it while you were not here, I don't think they will stop just because you are leaving :)

I think the title says it all. Basically, when a new comment appears on your targeted post, it sends you a PM about it.

Usage

  • Subscribe to a post: just mention the bot in the comments or send the link to the bot via PM.
  • Unsubscribe from a post: send PM to the bot with stop text and link of the post like stop https://lemmy.ml/post/1234
  • Unsubscribe completely: Send PM to the bot and add stop text to your message. It will unsubscribe you from all subscriptions.

Note: the bot sends only one notification per post. It waits for the previous notification to be marked as read for new comments.

Made with @CannotSleep420@hexbear.net's lemmy-bot project 🙏 Tomorrow I will publish the code publicly after adding README and self-hosting guide.

TBH they couldn’t handled the traffic at the beginning because Lemmy wasn’t stable as is now, but I believe they tried their best. Also I can’t say for all of them but their admins are reliable, trustworthy people.

Not just spam, it is also using system resources as high as big instances. I just defederated from it.

I wish someone made this integration in an app, that shows both Lemmy and Reddit feed, without an instance.

This explains everything. The reason I never saw her after the first date is because she was consumed by evil demons ☹️

I’ve been using 14 Pro for a year and notification system is not getting better :) It’s just so bad compared to Android.

I think "server" is basic and simple. I'm using that one.

For example my domain is server.tld and I'm serving my instance from lemmy.server.tld. Can I configure Lemmy to use my main domain (server.tld) as handle like @user@server.tld instead of @user@lemmy.server.tld?

But I couldn't find a document for Lemmy. Even if it's not happening now, is there a possibility that it could be done in the distant future? @dessalines@lemmy.ml @nutomic@lemmy.ml

For example, I downloaded Tor network and using it for illegal activities. Can my govt track me? Can US govt track me? I know it encrypts something but if I remember correct, FBI was able to find some Tor users before.

Note: illegal activities was for example. I'm not going to do anything illegal. I'm just planning to serve my instance with a onion address.

I see a lack of TFT community. So I opened one.

I want to set up my own Matrix server, but it seems a bit complicated in the proxy and federation part since I'm not using Nginx or Caddy. Does anyone have an up-to-date guide for Traefik version?

I need to

  • encrypt JSON payload (not just sign)
  • not share private key
  • verify the payload is generated with the shared public key and RSA fitting all of these.

As I've only made auth with JWT so far, I'm not sure. If I use RSA, I guess I have to put the encrypted text in the body.

Do you think it can be used? Any other suggestions?

I want to keep instance light and safe as possible and I don't want to let someone ruin it.

Right now I can't see if my users posts/comments are removed or reported on other instances. Is there a way to do it? Currently, if there is a problem in a different instance, I am not aware of it, except that the admin or mods in that instance will notify me. I believe this is a huge problem.

Nope. Donations are enough.

Especially cost/donation ratio should get lower on large scale.
