Basically: got to buy a house early as opposed to most of us ( probably with parents' help), got lucky on the stock market (because he wasn't spending everything on rent), and works as a CFO somewhere.

Definitely not in everyone's reach here.

This is satire, right? Right?

I only wish Kamala was as radical as Republicans think.

Yep, can't get a better line than: "Republicans voted against curing cancer!"

Look at what you get when you try to appease Republicans by appointing a federalist society judge to be AG in exchange for 0 Republican votes.

Statements like that are just going to make it easier for the UAW to unionise those plants. Union factory workers don't sleep on the floor.

Are they choosing, or can't they afford to own a car with insurance and petrol costs going through the roof?

It's just another stealth layoff. They've calculated that x% would rather quit than move, and that probably roughly corresponds with the amount of people they want to cut. On top of that, Texas probably provides tax incentives and has a cheaper labour pool and fewer labour protections.

It's a real shame that generally lefties don't really care about or 'get' software freedom. You should be pushing for free software on all levels. In your personal life and in government. It's crazy how much power a company like Apple, Microsoft or Google has over everyone.

Where did you get the idea Tesla pays above market rates for any role? They're notorious for hiring fresh college grads and just burning them out. And that's on the software side, the people building the actual cars have it even worse.

It's not just the corporations renting those offices, it's the politicians of downtown areas that fear a downturn in tax revenue due to more empty offices and less people getting their daily coffee/lunch/after work drinks.

And of course, if everyone's working remotely, this means it's a lot easier to find a better job without even needing to leave the house to interview, which gives employees a better bargaining position (downside is that employers will start looking at employees in lower paying countries as well).
