It's crazy how average gamers with spare $40 can completely fathom within 30 seconds of the gameplay showcase that they need not burn their money, but people in the industry with 100s of millions on the line are like "yup, this is the next star wars".

Yup, it matches my observations as well.
At this point I've seen enough to know that folks who really wanted insert other party to be removed from this world are successfully convincing the ones who were on the fence or even against that idea. This doesn't look like it'll de-escalate anytime soon, which only means more and more suffering and loss. Humans are both the most intelligent and most stupid animals on this planet to be the single biggest threat to themselves.
This is the decade we kill each other before we kill the planet, isn't it?

I've a huge backlog that I'm chipping through one by one, and thse games are only going to get better with patches or cheaper with sales, I can wait for that and reduce my backlog at the same time :D

I remember it being a big deal, well, some deal for a brief while, that God of War Ragnarok had reused boat animations from the previous game. Similarly for Horizon Forbidden West I think.
Anyway, sports games come annually and literally feel like the same game with some adjustments here and there and they're usually the best sellers lol, so this issue feels like a very "online thing", or perhaps the title makes it seem like there's a big inexcusable issue that needs a "defence".
