I don't see how they think it's a good move. I'm not speaking about people being upset. Most of the Firefox users are either people having at least some tech knowledge or people which use it because of a person with some tech knowledge.

And most of these people use an ad-blocker, know how to install a fork and so on. So, from the beginning, I don't know who think it's a good idea other than to kill Firefox.

AI is a scam, the next one after NFT, crypto.....

Education is learning critical thinking. People, politics, corpos, etc. use the education system for propaganda and indoctrination. The education isn't how people receive it. It's important to not mix them, otherwise you're already in the indoctrination process.

How do you eat kiwifruits? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

How do you eat this fruit called kiwi?

After more than 30 years using a small spoon, I changed. Now I'm eating the whole fruit including the skin.

With the version 130, Mozilla introduces a new navigation bar in Firefox for Android. If you don't like it, you can disable it in the "Secret Settings".

I was not a fan when it popped out on my screen. But, after sometime, it's pretty useful and saves a tap on the three dots button.

AI is the new scam after crypto, nft, etc. The technology isn't to blame itself. It can have some useful case for sure.

The real issue is the Market™, the belief in infinite growth. We arrived at the point of no return, where infinite growth is impossible. Humans like to challenge impossible. They will try to find whatever is possible to tackle the impossible. In our case, humans try to create growth artificially with crypto, nft, ai, and all the others. Because, it's the only way to have a minimalist growth for the shareholders and investors. Billions if not trillions were invested in Google and the others AI companies to milk the last drop for some dividend. Short term dividends should have wrote.

These bad search results are not to serve the general interest. It's here to serve these investments and return the last profit possible of the dogma of infinity in a finite world. It does indicate how bad the situation became for the economy. They are the cracks leaking the end of an era. They are symptomatic.

some of the Californians who moved here during the pandemic realized they had traded Edenic weather for 110-degree summers and no income tax, and they decided that the income tax wasn’t that bad

People discovering what the state provide isn't free.

This the type of business the EU has to develop. An entire ecosystem from phones, earbuds to computers and software. It's how you create a conscious and a model.

In a much-anticipated ruling, the European Court of Human Rights has decided that Swiss authorities are responsible for not implementing efficient climate change policies[...]

On Tuesday, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) upheld their appeal and condemned Switzerland for violating the right to respect for private and family life (Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights).

Today’s ruling is unprecedented. This is the first time that the ECHR has condemned a state for failing to take action against climate change, linking the protection of human rights to compliance with environmental obligations.

[...]

The new ruling should apply to the 46 States member of the European Council.

I never ever understood and still doesn't understand why people like Discord. It's not indexed, it's a constant background noise. It's absolutely not user-friendly. You can do better with IRC.

I wanted to say thank you for this great app to browse Lemmy. I appreciate all the work you're putting to keep the app alive with updates. I see a lot of bug reports and/or complain but not enough thanks and positive feedback.

Thank you!

New laptop (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 9 months ago by moitoi@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/linux@lemmy.ml

Hi everyone!

I need to buy a new laptop to replace my 12 years old laptop. I didn't look after hardware for a while for some personal reasons.

I will buy something new. My needs are:

  • photo editing
  • video editing
  • vector graphics editing/creation
  • good battery life (I don't want to worry about)
  • web navigating, docs, spreadsheets
  • USB-C charging would be nice

I don't game, and Framework isn't available where I live.

I would be happy to have some recommendation on what is a good hardware for this use and good brand.

Thanks!

All of these list are great as we discover new apps each time.

But, I would suggest to write what is the app about.

  • People are racists on a town to town basis.

  • One of the official language isn't used in the daily life despite having the larger speaker base. People use dialect.

  • These dialect can vary a lot between regions or even towns.

  • People will be angry and rant if the train run 5 minutes late.

  • The biodiversity is actually bad.

  • You can legally urinate on a UNESCO monument.

People should note that cocaine is the widest illegal drug used in Switzerland. Cannabis is second.

How did they discover the page? I'm curious about this.

Gaither said in the interview that she made an account on the direct-to-subscribers website because she has over $125,000 in student loans and needed the extra income.

"Teaching does not financially support a person," Gaither said. "It’s really hard to stretch those paychecks during the summer. That’s why I did it."

According to the report, Gaither's pay, which includes a stipend for coaching the school's cheerleading squad, was around $47,500.

When Gaither took the account down, she claimed to have had around 1,500 subscribers and was bringing in an extra $3,000 to $5,000 per month.

47,5/12= ~3.96k per month

With an onlyfan page, she made more than the teaching job. The issue isn't her onlyfan page. It's the paycheck at the end of the month. They must pay more. Supervisors also have to stop going on onlyfan for other thing than work. I don't believe they discovered it by chance.

Onlyfan is one of the symptoms of low income not a problem.

Tech never promised anything. They cut the price for people to be dependent to them and then rise the price.

It's just basic capitalism.
