I've had this stuck in my head all weekend, and hope someone else out there enjoys it too!

As a person who had spent 30+ years thinking that "a warm seat = someone had been sitting long enough to make it warm" and thought it was therefore gross, now that I have a heated toilet seat/bidet combo, now I think a cold seat is worse.

I knit and crochet, so when I saw this amigurumi horror show on display I fell in "love" with the stitches (which are somehow both and neither knit and crochet)

(Sdxl with added details lora and maybe/probably the yarn lora, but it was generated while I was asleep, so I don't have all the details)

Used a details lora and a rainbows lora. Kinda looks like bioluminescence may have also been selected, but that's just a guess 😁

Just tried again today, even though I wasn't expecting any different results from the last few Imagine my surprise! I'm pretty sure nothing happened on my end (Sync settings or instance).

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[-] mom@nom.mom 51 points 8 months ago

It became a thing in Lemmy 0.19 - as long as you're on an instance that has updated to that, it should be available to you. At the bottom of the settings page in the web ui, but if you use an app they might not expose that to you yet.

Omg, I can finally use my cane and carry more than one f*n thing at a time! Or - on a rough day - use my walker and carry my coffee without fear of a tiny bump into something spilling coffee everywhere! It's the little things like that that I miss

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If it weren't for the comment from @ljdawson@lemmy.world saying that the pricing was so he could work on it full-time, I wouldn't think anything of his long breaks. But because he said that, I think people have a right to question the bugs (reported here and on GitHub) that are still happening. I mean the bugs that are from the beginning.

He did a great job getting Sync converted for Lemmy, but the radio silence isn't a good look.

But, like, that's just my opinion, man.

(Edit: I know this is his normal method, and I agree that he deserves time off, and it was the holidays, etc etc. I just wanted to chime in with why some people may have expected … not this? Not radio silence?)

Since a lot of women have started to call their female friends "girlfriends"

This isn't really a new thing, though... Is it? Or did I miss the era where we didn't use "girlfriend" - at least sometimes - when talking about a female friend?

I assume you mean IRL activities?

  • Lock picking,
  • knitting/crocheting,
  • learning to roll a coin over your knuckles,
  • working with beads or chainmail,
  • definitely piano but other instruments can also help,
  • and also typing. Home-row, no-looking, speed typing, is I guess what I mean.

What about The Lion King? (I'd have to recommend the 1994 animated movie, but I haven't seen the newer one)

Sync for Lemmy is my daily-driver, but I also use the pwa (Voyager/wefwef), Liftoff, and Connect.

Yep, 4 apps for browsing Lemmy with, and I love them all for different reasons. I've used Sync for years and had no problem paying to get rid of ads - so many hours of entertainment have been facilitated by Sync, and I appreciate that enough to pay for it.

A lot of misinformation was spread through the course of the pandemic

Not to mention people making mask-wearing - even the existence of Covid - highly politicized. As though an infectious disease cares who you vote for.

Bug description

Have tried changing views in my inbox, and app has crashed each time.

Scenario

  1. Go to inbox (mine defaults to All Mentions)(From FAB)
  2. Change to All Messages (Also happens when switching to Unread/All Replies)

Result(s)

App crashes, every time I switch from All Mentions

Device information

Sync version: v23.09.13-09:43
Sync flavor: googlePlay

View type: Compact

Device: bluejay
Model: Google Pixel 6a
Android: 13

Update 1

Seems to happen with the FAB inbox button, but not the Bottom Nav one.

Update 2

Happens from the Drawer inbox button, too.

Is this happening to anybody else?

Is it just an image-size thing? I try to proofread and format, including images. Up until the preview of my most recent post, I had never seen an image in the preview.

Is this a me-thing? An image size thing? Something different that I hadn't thought of? I like it, whatever the reason.

This one works: This one doesn't:

Thanks for any insight!

A peck is (was) a unit of measure, oddly. Same with a bushel. I know because my Grandma used to say "a bushel and a peck, and a squeeze around the neck!" to me when I was young. I had to ask her too.

~~Edit: My post title says community, message says content. I'll proofread better next time. 😅~~

I was looking for new communities, saw this, and (as requested) am showing the message to @ljdawson@Lemmy.world

!egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone

Thanks! (Thought this seemed an appropriate method, but if there's a better way to let you know, I'm happy to do that instead)

These are screenshots of OpenBoard in Title bar, Gboard in Title bar, and OpenBoard in post text box

(I hope they show up properly - no pics in my preview)

For example, if I go down the list, visit 1, 2, 3, and 4, when I switch from 1 to 2, 1 is still highlighted. When I switch to 3, 2 is still highlighted. (Not a huge deal, but I love this app and want to give useful feedback and input)

Bottom nav seems to be keeping up and switching as normal. Is it just me? Am I being nit-picky?

Thanks for all your work!

Maybe something for the Pixel phones? I've been using ADW for a long time now, and was wondering what some frequently used launchers are. (I used Cyanogen for a long time, too.)

There are lists all over the internet, but I'm interested in what the Lemmy crowd likes. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks guys - a few of these were on my radar, some I hadn’t heard of or seen in the Play/f-droid lists. Having the reasons why you like each of them helps me figure out what I want from a launcher (for instance, the purchase of Nova by a company known for its data collection is a big turn-off even though it seems loved) - since you guys laid out some pros and cons of a bunch of launchers, it gives me a better picture!

Edit 2: You guys, this is a great resource for figuring out which launchers look like something worth trying (for me), and which ones are in the stores but not what I'm looking for. Without just trying them all, that is... And considering that I hadn't even heard of all of them...

This has been a huge help for me, and I hope some others out there got something out of the post! I should be replying to everyone, but I'm not ... Sorry. But I did read everything and have already started compiling a list in my head, and started tagging and categorizing. And those who included screen shots and links and lists and opinions and FOSS alternatives/forks - they helped! This whole thing helped!
