Do your firewall rules allow you to block your tv's telemetry, while allowing you to still use the internet on it? If so, would you mind sharing how you did it?

I don't blame the users. There's usually no way to upgrade android versions, so we get stuck unless we replace the phone, and most people can't afford to replace their phones so often. I'd go further and say that people shouldn't be supposed to replace their phones because of a new software version. The android's distribution model is flawed, we should be able to upgrade our phones the same way we upgrade linux distros. If it was possible, then I would blame users for running unmaintained software.

If the margin of error is of 2 points, you can't say that trump is leading, because both are statistically tied. I hate biased journalism.

People around here are delusional a lot of times, but to say that windows has too much of a monopoly to lose market, is too much of an exaggeration. Microsoft has been taking unpopular decisions, newer windows versions have been facing more and more resistance, macos has been growing and taking a share of the market, some governments and smaller businesses have been trying linux as a way to cut expenses, linux usability have been improving a lot, android devices have been taking more steps into taking functionalities from desktop systems and improving usability with keyboard and mouse, a lot of computers that do simple processing have been replaced by sbcs, like raspberry pis, etc.

Windows isn't too big to fail, and it's not impossible that we're close to see it starting to fall. Now, on what os would become the bigger player, that's another story.

Fun fact: My elderly mother uses linux, and without my help. Also, she never used the terminal.

Most people are too tech illiterate to understand it all. I doubt people would agree to such a level of data collection, if they knew more about it. I believe it can be compared to making illiterate people sign a contract, when they can't even read it.

Can't agree more. People get so confused because of those random significant changes out of nowhere. Software companies don't seem to do any long-term planning or previous research on usability, and treat their apps like playgrounds, forgetting that a LOT of people rely on them, most without high tech skills.

The historical value alone it already a reason for it to become open source.

Don't tupperware leak as well?

I mean, unless you use some sort of glass container or metallic, you're eating microplastics.

One thing is to explore different ways to do things, like many projects do, but ubuntu goes further and FORCES people to use their experiments, as if they're some sort of testing ground, not as if they're the most used family of linux distros and the one a lot of people rely on.

Edit: Sorry if my tone was excessive, I think I'm getting grumpy with age.

I see a lot of people around me asking for smaller phones, from my family to work and friends. Perhaps it's something cultural, I don't know.

But I'm well aware that our perception can trick us in so many ways, and can't speak for itself. I would love to see atual data on phone size preferences around the world.

Still, I doubt that there aren't enough people wanting smaller phones to sustain a market niche.
