using a free VoIP number isn't an option cause the moment you remove it discord with boot you off again, and keeping it is a huge security risk.

if you're a new discord account it's (in my experience) not possible to go without a verified phone number, their system is too sensitive

I don't get it tho, if a in your eyes good person wrote Lemmy what differences does it make? are the current devs pushing their agenda in the code or whatever? it's literally all open source

unfortunately i'm not familiar with peertube, but anyone is free to post a mirror in the comments. i'm really just waiting for lemmy to add a proper video player/embed support so we'll see what the best option will be from there.
