OK I read the bandcamp thing and... It's not enshittification at all. Can we stop applying the term to every online service that kinda gets slightly worse for some reason or another?

Just in case:

Here is how platforms die: first, they are good to their users; then they abuse their users to make things better for their business customers; finally, they abuse those business customers to claw back all the value for themselves. Then, they die. I call this enshittification

None of those things happened with Bandcamp

No, there is what Tidal calls "HiRes FLAC", which is 24-bit, 192 kHz. Their website does not even mention MQA anymore. They've moved away from MQA since early 2023, when the MQA company went bankrupt

You don't know the Verge, perhaps

This is just a good news and they are reporting it as such

I don't know about the team, but to motivate the players you can always decide to permanently install "anti-cheat" software directly into user's kernels. THAT will make them happy.

Also, did you know that the Riot client does not have an uninstaller? If you want to get rid if it, you have to search for all its files across your system and delete them manually. They are in at least 3 different folders. It's great!

Probably my favorite pieces of software from Europe (not strictly the EU) are

Proton (ProtonMail, Proton Calendar, etc) - Switzerland

Inoreader (probably the best RSS reader ever - and I've tried lots) - Bulgaria

Coffee beans for sure (gotta love freshly roasted specialty beans!), but also vegetables (organic & local are the best). Oh, and also headphones, for sure.

To me these are all totally worth it because the jump in quality is very noticeable. After a certain price point, though, the law of diminishing returns kicks in hard

Great game! Lovely level design, fascinating and beautiful to look at. Not at all stereotypical as it may seem from the promo material. Also before playing it I thought that playing as a cat was gonna be a gimmick, but the gameplay is actually influenced by it (lots of vertical movement, jumps, interesting perspectives etc.)

Still, if SSDs fail repeatedly, something's not right. That's the point of the article
