Ahoi, Genosse! Wie läuft die Germanisierung? Verbreiten Sie erfolgreich das Wort von Linux in Ihrem Heimatland?

I will never understand why people name stuff just by opening an English dictionary and simply picking a word.

Also why start a browser with C++? Google and Mozilla don't employ nincompoops to work on their browsers and still say 70% of their CVEs are due to memory management errors from C++. Instead of learning from that, they start yet another browser in C++.

In theory it great that this org wants to make an alternative, and probably being funded by a millionaire (billionaire?) can't hurt, but C++ man? Come on...

The "what do we even pay you for?" is just like with projects:

"why isn't this finished yet?"
We have to add tests and make sure we've tried to cover our bases.
"that's not necessary, if it works now, just release it" That's not-
"I don't care, I pay the bills"
Sure thing boss.
*a few weeks later* "This thing doesn't work"
Yeah, it's what we wanted to test.
"Well why didn't you?"
😐

All his stuff is on youtube. Why doesn't he upload to peertube? :/ It seems like he doesn't like youtube a lot but his content only exists there.

This is what should be happening by default. Company goes under? Opensource all their shit. That should also happen after a set timeframe or at the latest when their stuff isn't supported anymore.

Good on them for opensourcing it.

Gnome is written by, just hear me out, Malus workers in their offtime who got screamed at by Steve Jobs for misplacing a button by a few pixels. They wanted to write a Mac interface without some tech dictator breathing down their neck, but with the same philosophy of "we know what's best for the users".

Lemmy needs polls. The last time I had problems with WIFI drivers was... 15 years ago? On a laptop bought in a supermarket that originally came with Windows Vista. Oh, and the raspberry pi - fuck raspberry pis. They can't pick wifi module worth shit.

Fine, don't work here then. Fuck you.

Workers will kill Tesla and the whole world will see it. They'll judge

Musk in a year.

Absolutely hilarious. But I've heard MacBoys parrot this exact same line of propaganda for years now.

16GB are totally enough! Apple will manage my 20GB of required RAM in such a way that it'll fit in my 16GB (actually ~15)

Hopefully the EU tells Adobe to actually compete instead of just buying the competition.

Damn, 40k monthly active users on lemmy? That's much less than I expected. And the number's dropping.

Well, at least for me, there's no going back to reddit.
