It already has taken tons of graphic jobs. Also look up Graphite by IBM, it's advertising to companies to hire them to do their code. Which would be taking code jobs. I kind of think people don't understand how it's going to be taken as far as it can be taken by these corporations. If half the populace loses their jobs, they just don't care. I really don't get on who they think is going to be all of these products and services if no one has jobs, but their following quarter might be better.

Let's talk about war in the appropriate communities. I'm going to lock this.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 19 points 5 days ago

Could someone explain what this means to non-techy people?

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 8 points 5 days ago

This seems like a troll baiting thread. I don't know enough to tell completely so I'm going to lock it.

I had saved this site a couple of years ago. This doesn't seem correct unless pink means fighting. I know Ukraine has captured some areas and it doesn't seem to show. Any thoughts if I should ditch this as a source?

Some of the drones were shot down over the city of Podolsk, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. The city in the Moscow region is some 38 km (24 miles) south of the Kremlin.

"This is one of the largest attempts to attack Moscow using drones ever," Sobyanin said on the Telegram messaging app in the early hours of Wednesday. "The layered defence of Moscow that was created made it possible to successfully repel all the attacks from the enemy UAVs."

Note: I haven't used any of these, I can't speak for them. I do think it's cool for the environment and people on a budget though.

The trust document sets out what will happen to ownership of the media assets upon Murdoch’s death: His voting share will be transferred to the four oldest children. That could lead to a scenario in which the children are fighting over the future of the media assets. Fear of that outcome seems to have motivated Rupert Murdoch to seek this change to the trust.

Although Lachlan is now the chair of News Corp. and executive chair and CEO of Fox Corporation, the children have already aired some of their disagreements over the political direction of the media companies. For example, James and his wife have criticized Fox’s move to the right. Murdoch may well see this as a threat to the company’s business model, which caters to a conservative audience.

A geyser in Yellowstone's Biscuit Basin suddenly and violently exploded at about 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday because of a hydrothermal explosion underground, sending debris and boiling water and steam showering down on the area.

Some of these pieces of rock were up to 3 feet in diameter and weighed more than a person, according to an update from Yellowstone National Park and the United States Geological Survey.

Holy shit, they also cancelled it. Lmao

On Wednesday, some of the people who posted about the gift card said that when they went to redeem the offer, they got an error message saying the voucher had been canceled. When TechCrunch checked the voucher, the Uber Eats page provided an error message that said the gift card “has been canceled by the issuing party and is no longer valid.”

In the three-month study, the healthy participants increased their daily dietary fibre intake by 10 grams, which is equivalent to about four apples or 3 deciliters of oatmeal. To study the significance of the increased fibre intake, gut bacteria were collected at the beginning and the end of the study. These gut bacteria were then transplanted into mice which were fed a low-fiber Western diet. In the group of animals transplanted with intestinal bacteria from the beginning of the study, the researchers observed damage of the mucus layer. The opposite was seen in the group with increased consumption of dietary fibres, where the mucus layer looked fine.

"The result highlights the significant role that dietary fibre has for our intestinal bacteria, which in turn contributes to maintaining the important mucus barrier," says Rachel Feeney, Doctoral student at the Department of Molecular Biology at Umeå University.

My friends keep begging me to go swimming at this location. I've been told by locals that it's not a wise decision. I was wondering how I can tell? I don't think it's about bacteria, but more there are a ton of boats, planes and former industrial waste in the area. Can I tell from these tests?

It is Lake Union A522 if it doesn't link properly. Also, click all of the boxes to see the data and put in May through now to check the test.

FYI, I've seen people swimming there, they seem like tourists though.

I noticed you all were kind of against the White part of the name, I agree. I changed it to wacky, but we could take out the wacky altogether and call it People Twitter, any thoughts?

I'm not changing anything else. I'm going to watch for trolling, but that's about it. I hope you all keep having fun with it, I'm not really going to post much. I wanted to keep it here if we could, that's it.

Hit me up if you really want to mod. Kersploosh is great about accommodating everyone.

Edit: What do you all think of this as the banner? The white will just blend with the background. It's all the ideas for the name. I think it's funny, but you may not.

Edit 2: It will only blend with the background if you're in light mode. That might defeat dark mode. Maybe I'll just skip it.

TikTok says the mechanism would have allowed the government the "explicit authority to suspend the platform in the United States at the US government's sole discretion" if it did not follow certain rules.

A draft "National Security Agreement", proposed by TikTok in August 2022, would have seen the company having to follow rules such as properly funding its data protection units and making sure that ByteDance did not have access to US users' data.

In the May lawsuit, three men - who were not seated together and did not know each other - said that every black man was removed from the flight between Phoenix, Arizona and New York City.

A total of eight passengers were removed.

In a separate incident in 2017, the NAACP warned black travellers to avoid the airline, citing a pattern of "disrespectful" and "discriminatory" behaviour as well as a "corporate culture of racial insensitivity and possible racial bias".

They lifted the advisory the following year after the carrier announced it had made changes to its operations.

You have to pay to post pics? When did that happen?

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 98 points 9 months ago

True, but these are not the words of innocent men.

Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told Newsweek in a Saturday email that it is "unprofessional" to ask if the binder was sold to Russia. "What proof do you have?" he asked.
