Yeah alcohol really sucks. It's so embedded into society most people expect you to start drinking regularly as soon as you can. I think it's getting better but still people are nowhere near as cautious about alcohol as they really should be it accounts for 10% of deaths worldwide, that is just mind boggling.

I'm not sure if that's true, as far as I know brave is completely de-googled while not being based on de-googled chromium.

This is why I love lemmy so much. The only people here are people who have realised that mainstream social media is a steaming pile of trash and came hear to find a nice community.

Engineers aren't the only people who should want to learn and look stuff up right? Everyone should want to learn. And tiktok is just not the way to do it at all. I think it's wild how many people "learn" from platforms like tiktok and tell it to others like it's a fact without doing any extra research.

Thoughts on rust? Is it a good programming language to learn as a beginner?

The worse Microsoft makes Windows the more people start using Linux and the better Linux becomes.

Instead of making a whole new software why not just add number plate cameras to the osm database and make a software that pulls them out and makes it convenient to read?

Cruise ships. Not really a destination but I hate them so much.
