Day 1234 of "We're working on a ceasefire" and mass grave #999 of "We're trying to minimize casualties"

Because the NSA, CIA, and FBI love them. Vault 7, Magic Lantern, Intel ME and AMD PSP, Dual elliptic curve, COTTONMOUTH-I, ANT/TAO catalog, etc.

Hell, Microsoft willingly reports vulnerabilities and exploits to the government for them to use.

North Korea wishes it had this level of control on the goods its citizens willingly buy.

I guess the poor and disabled and people who are too busy with struggling to survive are secretly republicans now.

"Hey I have a weak immune system, so I have to work from home and that limits my income and my free time."

"I smell a Republican!"

"Thoughts and prayers to the man who wishes to make America a fascist dictatorship because of Russia. It'd be rude to wish that man dead."

Violence to fascists is self defense for minorities, especially ones like me. I bet you if Trump died, the Mexicans locked in cages at the border would cheer. I would.

Wonderful software, easy payment, great rates, but lack of port forwarding is a major fallback. I understand it was due to a very minor chunk of bad actors, but that minor chunk was hosting CSAM and other horrible internet-accessible things, and no way to track what traffic is where, means they had to remove the feature for the 98% of good faith users.

But I almost refuse to use AirVPN's software. It's so... weird. I'm thankful they support wireguard with zero issues, so I can just use the default network manager and apps for Linux/Android, but that client interface is so backwards compared to Mullvad and iVPN.

I just wish Valve wasn't pulling a Nintendo and not aiding the fans of a game they care about, instead of just sitting on it and claiming they are doing all they can for it.

How long has it been since we were promised a major update after Jungle Inferno? How long since Valve promised community fixes? How long since Valve delayed it with "we're working hard on making it next update"? How long did Valve say they heard the community loud and clear about the bot crisis?

TF2 is my all time favorite game, but it's no longer really playable in 2024. Casual servers are infested with bots, and there's been no major changes to the game since 2017. I wish Valve cared about the game as much as the community still does dozens of years later.

Man, I've met partners I dated for years because of random shit. Reddit, random interactions on discord, and a few more. My parents met because of a convention my dad organized for a show that was off the air for a few years at that point.

Humans are social creatures and they do be socializing.

Windows helped to bring the concept of an operating system to the masses too. Does that mean it's impossible to ever ruin it's reputation?

Please do not suggest people to use Manjaro.

https://github.com/arindas/manjarno

https://www.hadet.dev/Manjaro-Bad

https://rentry.co/manjaro-controversies

https://averagelinuxuser.com/manjaro-review

Manjaro's maintainers have repeatedly:

  • Let SSL certs expire, asking end users to turn back their system clock until they fixed it.

  • Told users to make partial updates which often causes packages to break, including mandatory rollbacks on critical packages such as systemd

  • Held back packages for ~1-2 weeks to improve stablity, but does not do this for all packages, including the AUR, which causes dependency hell and breakage.

  • Rolled out an edit to a AUR package that repeatedly sent requests to aur.archlinux.org which made the servers experience a DDOS attack, impacting all users.

I am not saying this to hate on Manjaro, but to inform OP and others. If they want a stable yet fresher distro, they should choose something more like Fedora or Ubuntu. If they want something rolling, Arch includes an installer in its iso that is really simple to understand.

Edit: I guess I hate Manjaro for pointing out they run their packages horribly. I'm such a bad guy for that. Woes Manjaro.

Flatscreens: Set it gently on the table, or you might break the screen.

CRTs: Set it gently on the table, or you might break the table.

4K HDR 120 Hertz, that we can easily put up surround sound is great. But fuck, you sneeze wrong and it gets a weird scanline issue, like mine.
