Most of these just make me smile or shake my head, but this one legitimately made me laugh.
I use Firefox everywhere, but there are a few main issues that stop me from converting people...
- The lack of tab groups. This seems silly, but most people I know, especially on mobile, keep a lot of tabs open. If they're researching something, or shopping for something they'll leave 20 tabs open. Having that in one tab group in Chrome is a better way to organize than just tons of tabs.
- Sites that don't work well on Firefox. Again, specifically on mobile I run into sites that work on Chrome but not on Firefox.
- General stability issues. I need to force close Firefox once or twice a day because it will just fail to load pages.
Honest but unpopular answer? He might believe he can make more money holding on to the $180k. It's the same reason why I would take a 2% car loan even if I had enough to buy the car outright. I can make more than 2% just keeping that money in a mutual fund.
Related genres but I wouldn't say it's a subgenre. They both evolved from "string music" but took it in very different directions.
Or cheese?
There is competition - New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Case IH, etc... The problem is that despite all the anti-consumer nonsense John Deere still tops the lists as the best option.
You could replace Windows with Ubuntu/Mint/Debian/openSUSE/Fedora for even better effect.

I'm surprised so many people here don't find many of them funny. I don't find them hilarious or even laugh out loud funny, but most of them at least make me smile.
I would happily keep slaving my phone to my car to avoid paying for extra services.
I think the response is meant to be tongue in cheek.
It makes sense that general purpose instances would have the most users. I'm not a programmer so while I could still register there why would I pick programmer.dev?
The bigger issue I had in picking an instance was just in understanding the differences. I think it would help if instances advertised their stance on defederation, moderation, etc... to help people make a decision (or even to see that lemmy.world may be more similar to some other instances than they might think).
Without even knowing where those roads are I see you are on the West Coast.
