$700 for an N100 tablet? Yikes. I can't imagine they would sell enough to stay in business.

Tiny Core has a minimum CPU of i486DX.

antiX might also work but I couldn't find a minimum CPU requirement listed, just that it has an x86 version.

Is it just me or is the irony lost on the author? It says "align-content: center" but it's only vertically aligned...

curl is most definitely not developed solely by one person though, it has thousands of contributors. in fact, there is so much red tape around curl that you can't even discuss making a change to it without first writing an RFC and having it approved by a committee.

tl;dr the sms verification falls back to voice and they just used a payphone.

I guess if you count the airport full of cameras they went to to do this as "anonymous", then sure :)

Also this article from 2017 suggests not using this method:

It’s important to maintain control of this phone number. For example, you could use a disposable SMS service to register with Signal — there are many such services if you search for them — but those phone numbers can be used by anyone. Similarly, you should avoid using a public payphone’s number, or a SIM card on which you do not intend to renew service. If someone else can receive SMS messages or phone calls to this phone number, they can take your Signal account away from you.

Only took 18 years since it was first reported.

voluntary data tends to be pretty skewed

Yea and a strangely (to me) large proportion of people seem vehemently opposed to apps even asking to collect usage data, which is incredibly helpful for developers, putting aside the more controversial things like privacy/marketing uses of the data.

Personally I don't believe for one second that Wayland has actually surpassed the install base of X11-like display servers.
