Not sure if this is a 9yo making food alone at home, or a straight up food crime.

French snails are soaked in garlic butter. If you like garlic butter then you will like it.

Well, my work computer is pretty much that already. My company is full-on Google suite. We are not supposed to store any files on the computers, we don't have any back-ups for the computers' storage. Everything is supposed to be on Google Drive and 90% of the work is done with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides.

I think many big companies would be very happy if they could have a key-in-hand solution with laptops as "user-terminals" with all processing and files handled in a cloud. Of course there are some important considerations like confidentiality, cybersecurity and GDPR. Network/electricity is another one, but this is already the case today that almost no work can be done in either of these situations.

Got a new laptop at work this summer and also got updated from win10 to win11 at the same time. I don't understand why everything is so much slower on win11 ! Starting the system use to be 30s now it's 3 minutes. Opening file explorer, slow. Opening a picture, slow. Opening an almost empty Excel sheet, guess it's time for coffee. Switching desktop views, omg soooo slow!

RISC-V (pronounced risk five), is a Free open-source Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). Other well established ISA like x86, amd64 (Intel and AMD) and ARM, are proprietary and therefore, one must pay every expensive licenses to design and build a processor using these architectures. You don't need to pay a license to build a RISC-V processor, you only need to follow the specifications. That doesn't mean the CPU design is also free, no, they stay very much the closed property of the designer, but RISC-V represents non the less, a very big step towards more transparency and technology freedom.

Hello ! I have a custom build NAS currently using 4x6TB hard drives in RAID10. I am looking for a capacity upgrade. My main focus are low power consumption and low noise (the NAS is in my living room / home office).

I can't seem to find any 5400RPM HDD over 8TB in capacity anywhere. Is there any model with 10, 12 or more TB in existence ? If not, what could be the reasons ?

I bought a 1st gen Framework, making the bet they will still be around and have sell upgrades for my laptop 5+years from now when I need an upgrade. So far they are delivering on their promises and the price remains acceptable (even if high than the competition).

  • very satisfied about linux support
  • very satisfied about reperability, customizability
  • very satisfied with overall spec. and design
  • not so satisfied by battery management and autonomy
