No, the commenter ommited a lot of information, it's not full Nitro, it's just the features that can be enabled/worked around client-side, see my comment under the parent one.

[-] taaz@biglemmowski.win 19 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

To clarify about the fake nitro plugin of Vencord/Vesktop:

It's not Nitro, it just enables some features you get with nitro, mainly better streaming quality and being able to "send" emojis from any server (this is all it does, cant use any emoji reacts nor send bigger files or server boost).

Also

About the emojis, the custom/other server emojis are sent as image links which discord will render but it is not a native discord emoji and will format differently when used inline.
It also does nothing for custom emoji reacts.

About streaming, Discord uses webrtc, that usually means P2P streaming which in turn means that the streaming client can send whatever they want (as long as the receiving clients understand it) and discord servers can't say no. It's not server authoritative communication, discord without nitro just hides the UI options, vencord gives them back.

https://lab401.com/ (I guess one of the bigger supplier/e-shop of hacking tools in EU) has a sale going on.

If you are interested you can check it out but I have another question, has anyone actually found the hamster?
I've even started scouring the page sources, considering the nature of the site it wouldn't be unusual to have it hidden literally but no bueno.
The 200EUR hamsters were gone within few hours so I must be doing something wrong or...

E: Hoping to get the Chameleon Ultra for this christmas and this seems to be the only official/renown seller of them in EU (open to alternatives though!), I know it's rather sub-par compared to the Proxmark but PX is currently overkill for me and I love how cute and small the CU is.

I've remembered this exists and there seems to be some very recent activity in the repo so if you didn't know what was possible with TUI graphics now you know! (recommended watching with sound :)

For me, the most interesting point was the short mention of open sourcing Factorio (around 2:40). Kovarex seems to be very much open to the idea, he mentions that (as an approximation) maybe two years after the DLC after things calm down ...

(Hope this is not much of a titlegore)

No space and time for creativity or "doing it right", just do it fast, like yesterday also that feature we talked about three months ago? yeah, client also needs this added ...

Or even better: this is what up to 20 years of technical debt does to people

If you are using https://github.com/wereii/lemmy-thumbnail-cleaner please stop and disable it as soon as possible.

We have found a security issue that allows any user to make LTC delete any locally hosted image.

I will be posting more details soon and editing this to include the information.

The server does not even respond to pings but I can see some comments/posts from the instance made few days ago.

Steam is close but actually not electron, they use CEF - Chromium Embedded Framework which is something Electron uses too under the hood (afair)

I think this should be seen by more people, it's also not just a US thing.

It hurts itself in confusion?

Welcome to federation, where basically every instance is a proxy to all others.

Btw you are also free to block any instance yourself.

Considering the timing this is probably a side effect of .world upgrading to 0.19.3 and their federation kicking into "higher" gear. I see 20-50 warnings like these in logs every minute all from lemmy.world.
I am guessing .world thinks at least one of my users are subscribed to a community but they are not (?) so my instance drops the federation (?)

I have a unused RPi4 (the 8Gig one) running DietPi. I did use it as a playground but ever since I am renting a Hetzner machine for (playground) stuff that I want web accessible, I don't have particular use for the Pi.

I am currently running (outdated) Home Assistant on it but there isn't much I can connect it with (yet, getting the flashable/compatible ikea smart lightning zigbee? bridge thingy is on my bucket list). Obviously I do have a pihole there.

Shoot me any other ideas I could run there. Some kind of monitoring of my rented infra would be cool (I already have uptime kuma on the dedi hetzner box). One idea I had was if there are some OSS security scanning "daemons" I could use on to monitor my other infra.

Thanks a lot!

Oh and it seems this is not all of it, an ex-employee came out on twitter about sexual harassment, extremely bad work conditions and so much more.
The timing of it is weird to say at least but there's a lot.
