And thus, Nestle was born.

What you just described is basically a statistical tie and worse odds than what 538 (regardless of it no longer being Nate Silver's original model) gave Hillary to win in 2016.

You don't deserve these down votes.

  • Hillary lost despite winning the popular vote by a +2% spread
  • Biden won with a 4.5% spread in the popular vote
  • Obama won by 7% and reelected by ~4%

It's not just that Democrats need to win big to shut the other side up, they need to win big just to overcome their inherent disadvantage in the electoral college.

With Kamala sitting around 2.2% nationally on average, being within the margin of error of the states she needs to win, and her momentum seemingly stalled for the reasons you listed, Democrats should be worried.

As someone who would vote for her, or just about anyone who is not Donald Trump, I hate this.

nobody will enter on Israel's side (no middle eastern despot would fight with Israel and survive the week) so yeah.

Perhaps not directly, but if America steps up it's involvement, they will be relying on their relationships with allies in the region to do so.

I think the lens of a localized, regional war in the Middle East is becoming too narrow. If we're escalating things to the point of America's direct and significant involvement (beyond shooting missiles out of the sky, but rather conducting its own attacks on Iran), then I think Iran's potential allies extend beyond the region as well.

Most likely Russia first, as it's already in a proxy war with the US/West.

Potentially China, but not likely until it's most advantageous for them to do so. Or perhaps they'll enter opportunistically, such as attacking Taiwan if America's Naval might is sent to the Gulf, opening a potential three front war.

The economic connection between these three has continued to grow in recent years, and may be reason enough.

No no no, you don't understand. We're just de-escalating through escalation.

I wish this was /s rather than a direct quote...

The British gave time, the Americans gave money, the Soviets gave blood.

The Russian capacity to throw seemly endless bodies toward a goal is virtually part of their mythos. The above quote is from Stalin in regards to defeating the Nazis. The situation couldn't be more different, other than in the propaganda coming from Putin.

Yep, almost the exact same spread in the national polls, and still lost. Absolutely no comfort for me with numbers where they are.

National polling has Kamala up by +6 at best. Seems like 44%+ of ~~Americans~~ those polled seem comfortable and supportive of Trump. The fact it is that close at a national level, with all Haitians eating cats rhetoric, still seems insane to an outsider.

Edit: Updated to appease those saying 44%+ of those polled who say they support Trump is not an accurate reflection of Americans at-large. For reference, Trump won 46.1% of the popular vote in 2016 and 46.8% of the popular vote in 2020.

I firmly believe that if any other candidate, in a primary or general election, either republican or democrat, had said this, it would end their campaign.

We have become so accustomed to Trump saying outrageous bullshit, that this will be forgotten in less than a week, and most voters will never even hear about it.
