This article says Ukrainian forces killed the crew after they refused to surrender.
And this article says the same thing. Crew freaked out when they realized they landed in Ukraine, ran and refused to surrender.
Are you talking about a different heli pilot that defected?
I also agree that this story is true, and salute the safe families of the brave crew members.
