Today is the type of soaking rain that is great for the garden. Pity my garden plan is to pull out almost everything currently there and put in some new plants that have not arrived yet!

Oh well, I do have some tomatoes that will be enjoying it, along with the potatoes I planted yesterday.

yes and no, too much rain washes the nutrients out of the soil

I have very sandy soil, so it washes out really quickly and also does not retain the moisture easily. I've done a fair bit of work building it up so it is better than it was, but it definitely chews through the fertilizer.
