and yet the Beatles already had many successful albums, gone on tours, made two movies, worked together on music and lyrics
I think age had a lot to do with it, as they aged a bit their personalities were becoming more set and differences in work process became more of a difficulty they couldn't overcome.
Ringo never changed, hardest working of the lot he was. imo
