To a large extent, the core personality of PC gaming is being niche.

What does that even mean?

What is a personality for PC gaming? I have never ever felt I was in a niche hobby or that PC gaming was even perceived as such and I have been playing for a long time.

This article is just bad I'm sorry.

A well intentioned but bad leader?

Thinking about Fallout 4 honestly there was major mistakes.

Dude saw the project of his life absolutely destroyed by Reddit. I can understand he just wants to move to the next chapter of his life.

Sure a bit of communication is always appreciated but it's already pretty cool he ported the app to Lemmy.

Only individuals like Aaron Swartz are prosecuted criminally. Not a rich and powerful Israeli ally of course.

I literally don't understand people having kids in this "climate". That's how cynical and hopeless I feel about humanity's future.

I wouldn't want to inflict that... The heat, the natural disasters, the risk of nuclear wars. The genocides considering multiple were or are active at any point (Palestine, Syria...). The fall of journalism...

Many things I discuss with my friends but nobody could ever dream to fix. So all this shit stays with you. And seeing how our politics are reacting to climate change, this is lost. Because everything else is pointless if you don't have a place to live.

And then you get idiots that will tell someone that is not American : "uh why do you care so much about our election, it's not your country"

Well yes your (vice) president is starting to extort the rest of the world before even starting his mandate...

It could loopback to you...

Exactly.

Europeans like Chinese electric vehicles because they are affordable.

Meanwhile European manufacturers are probably pushing behind the scene to restrict the Asian competitors on the market so they can decide what price is right.

In the next months in France they will reduce the subsidies for Electric Vehicle with a poor CO2 bill like imported Chinese cars.

So even less people will get to afford EVs.

I don't think this is just about cheap Chinese labor importing cheap Chinese cars to Europe. It's also about Europe ignoring the importance of battery tech and manufacturing for decades and suddenly acting all surprised that we are not competitive.

Well AI might destroy mankind but at least we had this.

Worth it.

Just a perspective on why people would support NVIDIA here:

  • They don't believe in copyright law so they don't mind whoever infringe on them. Especially since here it would make the proprietary driver work better.

  • They do care about copyright law but think having a working driver outweighs respecting them.

Not my opinion here just saying that for some people usability trumps any other aspects.

I just thought about the "Duh it's fake" comments that were slowly inching me to insanity on reddit.

Please don't bring this over to Lemmy. Please.

80% of popular posts had a popular comment saying something is staged or fake. It's so uninteresting, unoriginal and beating a dead horse so to say. Even for litteral movie scenes we had popular comments saying it's staged.

Sorry for the rant and it's not particularly for your comment. It just was a massive trend I noticed on certain subreddits. Could probably farm karma just making a bot saying some variation of "it's fake" to every posts.
