if you read the article, you'd find out that the alert linked to the X post. it could be linking to a dedicated webpage instead, which wouldn't require logging in.

they've claimed the same last year in December, and it turned out they were overselling their capabilities

- people who have experienced Mastodon's hermetic culture discouraging others from joining
