I remember when I worked overnights at Walmart. There was a night differential of$1 per hour. While I was working there it changed to $.50 and the base pay went up by 55 cents. They really tried to tell me because my pay went up by 5 cents and hour I wasn't actually losing anything. Walmart will do anything and everything to pay their employees as little as possible. Also those who were there for a 1-2 years actually lost income with that change.

I followed this recipe https://pinchofyum.com/the-best-chicken-tinga-tacos#tasty-recipes-45558-jump-target

I subbed the peppers sauce with rehydratedred Chiles hatch peppers and some other pepper I lost the original package to. I also use the broth I soaked the peppers in for the broth. And actually cooked chicken thighs. So basically only followed the instructions.

Why are we basing our laws around healthcare on an act made in the 1800s?

In March, a frustrated parent wrote an email to the Hazelwood School District. Her daughter had been kicked out of Jamestown Elementary School after the district conducted an investigation into where the family lived.

In the email, the mother complained that her daughter had been wrongly removed and could not return to school.

“How is it considering a student's well being, to be pulled out of school less than three months before the end of the year,” she wrote.

The mother’s email is one of more than 100 communications between families and the Hazelwood School District appealing decisions that children could not attend its schools. The Midwest Newsroom and St. Louis Public Radio obtained the trove of emails through a public records request.

The mother, whose name is redacted in the records, wrote that even after her child was removed from school, district officials could not answer her questions about the investigation — nor why the school district even conducted the investigation.

“Hazelwood took it upon themselves to hire an investigator and follow me and my child, causing anxiety and fearing [sic] for my life not knowing who is watching us,” the mother wrote. “I feel like my daughter has been targeted and singled out for no apparent reason and with no explanation.”

Missouri students attending public school must enroll where their guardians pay property taxes — with some exceptions. Many districts use investigations to confirm where students live. The communications between parents and guardians and the Hazelwood School District — amounting to more than a thousand pages — paint the picture of an inflexible and inscrutable residency investigation system.

Other records obtained for this article show that the Hazelwood School District has ramped up the rate of its investigations in the past five school years and appears to be conducting significantly more than other local school districts.

(To be continued in the article)

Would this be a potential push to form a monopoly?

To be fair parents don't know what's best for their children. Don't tell parents that though they take it personally.

I'm a week late on rent due, I only paid half, I had to call all my credit card companies and utilities to tell them what's going on. And now my check engine light turned on because the bastard is misfiring. My wife lost her dad which fucked us both up due to missing a ton of work, and I don't know what to do. I'm tired of asking my family for help, the for bank is only available while I'm working, I work 2 jobs. My wife is working too and we're even took in a person to live in our spare room.

How in the world do people survive in this world when they don't even have time to be happy? I use upside for gas and shopping I'm enrolled in every stores rewards program, I make my own cleaning supplies to save money and cook from scratch. What else could I do to save money? Also with the looming government shutdown I'm going to be furloughed for however long that is. Also what are some apps you guys use to help save money? I guess this is a lot of questions.

You have a point, but in at least one of these cases the images used were of the girls around them and even tried extorting one is then. Issues like this should be handled on a case by case basis.

This is like that episode of Parks and Rec where Leslie married the penguins because it was cute, later to find out there were both boys, this making her action a political statement. People are fucking stupid, that person who complained could have easily looked it up after being informed of what the symbol meant. The board deserves to be sued for their shit decision. Who decides not to sponsor a parade because one of the floats is for pride? Sounds to me like the board is the one with the agenda.

That's scary as hell, they sound like the Hydra from Marvel Comics. I know the country is at a breaking point but they can't get their way.

The few conversations I've had there have been unproductive and inflammatory. While even in other instances when I've said something someone disagreed with they would at least support their statement. Also no one would tell me why the "Confused Unga Bunga" meme is racist but they keep accusing me of it. I'm all for open discussions but even the comments there are so angry and toxic.

Edit: I'm reading every comment and taking everything people said and considering all sides. My stance on the phrase has changed but I am still hesitant about giving hexbear a chance. I'll sleep on it though.

It's a fucking bathroom and these people need to get over it. I was driving through Tennessee and had to stop to use the bathroom at a Shell station. I'm trans and the men's room was out of service. The women said only women and children can use the single toilet room. I argued with her and eventually left to find another place. I reported her to the company and left a bad review but because it's a private business they did nothing. These people are crazy and don't actually care about anyone being safe.

I'm about 1/3 of the way done after over a year of breaks and other projects. If looking closely you can see my skill progression.

Since coming to lemmy I will browse all vs local and top by day. There is a solid amount of AI generated porn that has many votes in a 24 hour period.

To me the whole vibe is plastic tits and "smooth" skin. It looks off even when done well and all the faces look the same. Is anything it's more a technical feat than what helps me beat my meat. Also it's nearly all white women or pale Asians.

During the pandemic I came out as non-binary due to my personal feelings on how I perceived myself and the way I am.

Lately over this past year I've been asking myself how do I feel. Many thought have been going through my head like I'd be happier if I was born a girl and I've always wondered what it would be like to have a vagina.

I'm also under immense stress in my personal life that may be exasperating these feelings but they existed before the stress.

My face is scraggly, my legs are a hairy mess. Thankfully I have a safe space with my wife who knows what I'm going through and a friend who listens and offers support. My biggest fear is addressing my family. My mom is still misgendering me and my trans BIL who has fully transitioned. She still lives us and I think she loves him but has fucked up ideas. My dad who has been divorced from my mom for nearly my whole life is full blood republican who believes in personal freedoms from his time in the military but I also don't know his feelings on trans rights.

I know I'm ranting but I decided I need to crack this shell and figure things out.

I don't know the first thing about makeup also clothes shopping is overwhelming.
