What about the husband vote cancelling out the wives vote?

Both humans have agency. If you are going to frame the issue as treachery, then the husband shouldn't vote against his wife. Or, is the husband owed two votes and the wife none?

Fuck that.

I mean, have you followed what's been happening in the last two months?

I've aged 28 years.

I think that it's about 50 or so days till the election. I'm not even American and it's so goddamned exhausting.

Totally non-weird response to a journalist asking questions.

Well, the Trump team has been panicking in anticipation of this happening. They have already started launching law suits trying to stop it. The biggest scare they had was Biden's age and that may have just vaporised?

What I find fascinating is the total number of numbskulls and cartoon villains, all collected under the Trump banner, and that lunatic mob may very well take government.

What's the hell wrong with American voters?

[-] slickgoat@lemmy.world 62 points 6 months ago

Subpoena them one by one and confront them about specific issues. For instance Thomas and all those billionaire friends who keep dropping money in his lap. Congress committees have the power to do this.

Let sunlight into the dirty little acts of corruption and impeach. Hit them instead of just complaining all the damn time. Also, six or seven year term limits. Then every single president will get a chance to appoint a couple and the bench makeup will be more balanced.

Not American either, but the situation looking from the outside is pretty horrendous. The solution is not to vote for him, or to turn out in such numbers that it would be impossible for him to get in.

Here's the rub, about fifty percent of your voters either want him, or don't care enough either way.

So many millions of your people are toying with the idea of soaking yourselves in fuel and flicking a match.

You actually have the solution - get out and vote and get your families and friends out too, or suffer the consequences.
