It is called the Takings Clause by the Supreme Court, Cornell Law, and pretty much anyone else who talks about it. Expect the word "take" in a discussion about it.

The clause itself uses the word "take". Taking with compensation is still taking.

They talked about just compensation, but the change and precedent provided by the Kelo case was in the lowering of the standard for taking. The case also set the precedent that the government could take private land not just for public use, but to transfer that land to another private party. Thus the focus on that. Compensation or not, the land was taken against the owner's will for the purpose of enriching a corporation.

Both eyes open is great for the real world. Olympic target shooting is a very different animal. Don't think of it like normal shooting. Situational awareness is not a factor. Unlike practical shooting, tunnel vision is desired. Most shooters wear blinders to obscure the off side eye. On the aiming eye they often wear special glasses. They are focusing on absolutely lining up the physical sights, there are no optics in Olympic pistol shooting.

For comparison, this is what a more conventional Olympic headgear setup looks like.

Yes the hand in pocket is pretty common in Olympic shooting. Unfortunate that it was part of the list as it undercuts the rest of the valid observations unusualness of the setup and success.

This shooter was much more casual than most. Most shooters will line up with special highly stable, but strange looking stances.

"Decaf coffee"

It actually has 300000mg of caffeine

"It's well known that coffee has caffeine in it. Skill issue."

TSA has an 80% failure rate during inspections.

Everyone knows the TSA is useless. I know people who have accidentally carried fixed blade knives through security without getting stopped.

A valid criticism. Coming from the mouth of something trying to replace it with something worse. A classic villain move.

I did enjoy the old EU Luke being a more reformist and grounded iteration of Jedi teachings. He started by rejecting Yoda’s warnings not to try and save his friends. He put friends over the high minded ideals of Jedi enlightenment right there in Empire Strikes Back. Then in ROTJ he spent the entire movie rejecting the obvious approach of simply killing Vader, instead trying to reach Anakin. Over and over Luke put people he cared about over esoteric codes.

(Remember when the original trilogy and much of the EU establishing Luke was written, the prequels and Clone Wars hadn’t been fleshed out, and Jedi were implied to be even more high minded and classical than they were shown in the prequels).
