They're currently in an ideal position to get some real action done. A weak Liberal minority with not too great looking polls, in a need for a win to show for the next elections, is exactly the kind of government that might get forced into actually solving something by the NDP.

New Democrats have raised $2.6 million so far this year — a far cry from the $6.8 million raised by the Liberals or the $16.2 million collected by the Conservatives.

I do wonder why the NDP raises the least of the three parties. I myself regularly donate $20 a month (I can't afford much more), but I know that most people don't even donate this amount. People really should if they want to see a better Canada.

The funding they receive is approximately in line with what you would expect based on their share of the overall vote in previous elections. You'd never expect them to be on-par with the big two as they just don't garner as much interest, period.

It's the Liberals that should be questioning why theirs is so low. Perhaps it is only skewed right now because they have been in power for so long? Canadians do seem to grow tired of parties holding power for too long.
