What

Edit: ah, nevermind. Looks like my client (Boost for Lemmy) doesn't support videos properly yet

[-] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

I'm on Boost, and I see it.

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I saw just the first frame. Maybe there's some update that hasn't rolled out to me yet.

edit: I don't see an update in my play store and it says the last update was released on 30th of november. I wonder what's going on that this post behaves so inconsistently

[-] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I'm on the beta, so maybe that's it?

Edit: version 1.0.4 (7)

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Probably haha

[-] MNByChoice@midwest.social 2 points 10 months ago

Nor, apparently, the web interface.

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

the web interface I get here on lemmy.world seems to handle it just fine

[-] MNByChoice@midwest.social 2 points 10 months ago

Interesting. Failed on midwest.social, but does work if I open it on lemy.lol (original location).

Thanks for the data point!

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

lemy.lol is the instance of the user, this community is hosted on lemmy.world. And I would say in this context, the original location is the location of the community. or are videos hosted on the users instance for some reason?

[-] MNByChoice@midwest.social 0 points 10 months ago

I have no idea.

Interestingly, opening this thread on lemmy.world also does not work.

Same results with Chrome and Opera.

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

That's odd. Still working fine for me (lemmy.world, Firefox on Linux)

Yeah media says on the original instance it got posted on, it's just the URL that gets passed around instances.

[-] V0lD@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Click the hd button. Fixed it for me

[-] meekah@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

For me it loaded something but then just showed a black screen

[-] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

What is happening here? Is it imitating the humans?

[-] FeetinMashedPotatoes@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

Trying to suck his own dick

[-] crimroy@sopuli.xyz 9 points 10 months ago

What's crazy is that this was recorded in the first place. Like Kitty was like, ok go

Thank you! I was confused and stared at a still image for like 10 seconds.

[-] cactusupyourbutt@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

that doesnt load for me on voyager on ios

edit: doesnt load in firefox either

[-] syd@lemy.lol 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah videos doesn't work on Voyager, unfortunately.

[-] cactusupyourbutt@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

other videos work fine though

[-] syd@lemy.lol 1 points 10 months ago

They can be WEBM. The videos I upload are MP4. Can you confirm this @aeharding@lemmy.world?

[-] aeharding@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Your codec/video container is malformed/ unsupported in iOS, it’s not just Voyager.

[-] syd@lemy.lol 1 points 10 months ago

Interesting 🤔 I've cropped and removed audio with iMovie. Do you have more detailed information? So I can avoid it next time.

[-] aeharding@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I don’t- but if you try to view the video in safari with Lemmy-ui) it also doesn’t work.

You could try running through Handbrake with web mode enabled.

[-] syd@lemy.lol 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks, I will try other formats 👍

Reps for jesus.

EDIT

I guess we're not a fan of Dom at BroScienceLife?

[-] vaselined@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Which client supports videos?

[-] SaintWacko@midwest.social 8 points 10 months ago
[-] Potatos_are_not_friends@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Currently using sync on Android.

Clicked on post link and nothing.

Am I broken?

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 1 points 10 months ago

For me it didn't seem to load at first, so I backed out and opened it again and it worked after a second. The same might work for you.

[-] June@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

Voyager here, worked no problem.

[-] syd@lemy.lol 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Most clients I use. Default web UI, Photon, Mlem. I've seen people telling some other clients supports too.

Boost worked fine for me

[-] A7thStone@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

It works for me in Liftoff

[-] Zeshade@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

Works fine for me on Connect.

[-] key@lemmy.keychat.org 3 points 10 months ago

That gym lets people bring in small animals?

[-] syd@lemy.lol 1 points 10 months ago

Frankly, I wouldn't be bothered.

[-] MarmaladeMermaid@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

The non zero chance of kitty getting smushed by a machine or dropped weight seems not worth the joy of cat company while working out. It looks like it might not be during business hours though.

[-] syd@lemy.lol 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah, it made me uncomfortable to think about it. Congratulations on changing my mind 🥳

I just realised that I've never seen a video on Lemmy before. It's pretty cool finally seeing one.
