I don't know why you need a military task force to monitor genitals

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

"Maybe if I'm an even bigger, sadder bitch, then they'll all tell me how great I am."

[-] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 12 points 7 hours ago

You mean political officers? Like we see on the tvs in all Russia subs...

[-] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 42 points 14 hours ago

I am interested to see their written definition of "woke".

[-] wide_eyed_stupid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Didn't DeSantis (or his lawyer anyway) define it as 'knowing there are systemic injustices and wanting to address them' or something like it? I found it funny when I read that. Back when I was still on reddit, there was of course a huge SelfAwarewolves post about it.

“something im afraid of, and/or something i don’t understand”

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

There won't be one. It'll be a commissariat type situation that completely fucks our military for decades.

[-] HK65@sopuli.xyz 42 points 13 hours ago

You know there won't be one, and this is just a vehicle to do military purges, right?

[-] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 7 points 8 hours ago

Some conservative tried explaining it and I recall she basically settled it being defined as critical thinking.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 29 points 14 hours ago

Sooooo... A task force of racists?

[-] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

How dare you. They'll also be sexist and homophobic. And xenophobic. And aporophobic. And transphobic.

[-] Kayday@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

We need a new word for people with all the phobias. Bigot has lost its oomph, the pizaz, the gravitas.

[-] Shark_Ra_Thanos@lemmy.ml 3 points 7 hours ago

You don't have enough of that.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 23 points 14 hours ago

Yeah, cause our fucking military is too woke. Stfu.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago

That's a line they actually use. They usually pair it with pictures of combat soldiers partying in My Little Pony costumes.

They forget that those same guys would annihilate their backwoods militia before lunch if it came down to a fight.

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 14 points 12 hours ago

I didn't use to be able to decode narcissism at a glance, but basically he's mad that Mad Dog Mattis and his colleagues didn't bend the knee.

Honestly I have never been so accepting of the armed forces as when Mattis openly shunned Trump.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Not just Mattis. He tried to order the active duty military to go after protestors in D.C. They reminded him of their oath and the Posse Comitatus Act. At volume. In the Oval Office. Then they released a force wide memo reminding everyone their oath was to the Constitution, not the President.

He's never forgiven the military for that.

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Yes. Despite all my deep resentments about our war-like ways, they earned a measure of respect for that.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago

The military has a lot of bad things. But they are loyal to their own moral code. For an organization mostly made of people who wandered in from the street desperate for money or glory, I think that's pretty neat.

[-] InverseParallax@lemmy.world 1 points 39 minutes ago

Most of the bad shit they've done, has been because idiots outside of uniform thought it was politically helpful to them.

We need to stop ordering them to do bad shit and actually try to think before we send them places.

[-] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 49 points 17 hours ago

Tell me how this isn’t fascism again ?

[-] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 36 points 14 hours ago

Cause when Republicans do the fascism, it's not fascism, it's just conservative values.

[-] vividspecter@lemm.ee 5 points 3 hours ago

It's only called fascism when it's from the fascist region. Otherwise, it's sparkling conservatism.

Great plan… use diversity training as a tool to identify generals who might not be loyal, purge them and put stooges in place. This has worked out really well for Russias military.

[-] lemmylommy@lemmy.world 20 points 17 hours ago

This working out great for the Russian military could be the reason behind the plan.

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 39 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Can you fucking imagine clocking into work at the Anti-woke Task Force office? Wearing an Anti-woke Task Force uniform??!!

This might be my halloween costume...

[-] tektite@slrpnk.net 8 points 10 hours ago

If it's an Anti-woke uniform I imagine it'll have a vinyl window over the crotch so everyone can see that you're going into the bathroom that matches your genitalia. And of course it'll have a flame thrower so you can burn all the books. You'll probably need the skin color chart from Family Guy; better add grey and green on there to identify the extra-terrestrial aliens. Don't forget your shoes must have heels because all the best Anti-woke crusaders wear heels!

Hmm, what else...

[-] gedhrel@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago

Sexy anti-woke task force officer?

[-] splount@lemmy.world 40 points 18 hours ago

So very Gestapo of him.

I read it that way too..... honestly wouldn't surprise me in the least if he did say genitals

[-] FunderPants@lemmy.ca 13 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Operation Generals Genital General Inspection for Operations is a go.

Handmaids tale, where we come

[-] twig@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 15 hours ago

Is this just him saying he wants to reinstate DADT, but with extra steps?

The US military has specifically benefited from diversity and inclusivity programs in recent years. The actual size of the US military force is comparatively smaller than in the past, and being more inclusive has benefited the institution in the concrete way of just having a larger number of potential enlistees to pull from.

I'm all for reducing the size of the US military, but to be clear that's the only effect this will have.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

No.

It’s private bone spurs being big tough guy for the MAGATs. It means nothing, it is nothing, but if everything goes to fucking shit again one of his evil toadies might try some ignorant loyalty-test bullshit to fuck up the military, yeah.

[-] match@pawb.social 1 points 12 hours ago

incoherent nonsequiturs but some people earnest believe and intend to implement it. this is the exact definition of skibidi
