It's not like he previously told his cultists repeatedly to attack people at his rallies and he'll pay their legal bills, whoops wait a minute...

"Is there anybody here who's going to vote for lyin' Kamala?" Trump asked his rally attendees. "Actually, I should say don't raise your hand, it would be very dangerous. We don't want to see anybody get hurt. Please don't raise your hand."

Trump is fully aware that his supporters will engage in political violence, and that what he says (or refuses to say) has an impact on said violence. DoJ, take note for when he encourages another mob to engage in violence on his behalf and then acts like he wasn't doing exactly that.

Edit: In case I wasn't perfectly clear, this statement by Trump is admissible evidence that Trump knows that his speech is capable of encouraging violence, even something as otherwise harmless as "Is there anybody here who's going to vote for lyin' Kamala?"

They're at a Trump rally, of course they're all going to vote for Trump. The only reason to tell the non-existent people not to raise their hand is to normalize violence against the opposition.

I'll be at my local polling place with my concealed Colt .45, with my AR in the truck.

Let the red hats fuck around.

Libs: Time to stop pointing fingers and clutching pearls. Be there! It will be wild!

(I'm no badass, but I'm experienced, know the local laws and can shoot quite well enough. And I will be scared shitless, but I'll have some up-close conversations with anyone seeming to intimidate voters.)

Please don't pull a Rittenhouse.

[-] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Not possible. Liberals and dems always face punishment while Republicans violate every rule and law

[-] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

Be careful about that. It’s not legal to conceal carry at a polling place in Florida even with a CCW. I’m not sure where you are but the gun laws in FL are relatively lax; so just double check before.

[-] BossDj@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago

Hell yeah. I'm in. I'm breaking out my gun and gonna march my ass proudly confidently all the way down to my mailbox on October 20th or so. Unless it's raining. Then like. Maybe the next day.

Stochastic Terrorism:

Stochastic terrorism is a form of political violence instigated by hostile public rhetoric directed at a group or an individual.

[-] Asafum@feddit.nl 1 points 11 hours ago

You dropped the asterisk.

*Except when Donald Trump does it. Then it's totes cool and legal.

lol kinda off topic but holy shit they could not have more pointedly made an unflattering comparison in those side by side photos if they tried the rest of their lives. Hilarious.

Where’s our law enforcement in all this?

Why don't you ever see Batman beating up Bruce Wayne?

[-] tryitout@infosec.pub 32 points 1 day ago

Split personality Batman who hates the rich would be amazing.

Oh, Merrick is busy trying to get Trump re-elected for his Federalist society masters, you know… for tax cuts.

[-] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago

Garland hasn’t been perfect on this but for quite a while it’s been the judiciary that’s been failing us.

A convict should watch his language regarding a former prosecutor. He hasn't been sentenced yet.

I wonder if he goes full mask off if he'll lose any voters.

(I think he has already, but some people just never see things until it hits them in the face.)

[-] tektite@slrpnk.net 38 points 1 day ago

He is definitely losing supporters. I know a postal carrier in one of the worst red states and after both recent debates she's been seeing longstanding trump flags and bumper stickers disappear from houses on her route.

[-] RavenFellBlade@startrek.website 3 points 14 hours ago

Same. Of the dozens I've seen taken down, about ⅓ to ½ have been replaced with Harris signs. It's certainly been a surprise.

[-] CatsGoMOW@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That’s great and all, but someone taking down a sign doesn’t mean they’re not gonna vote for him. Now they can just do it without announcing it to the world.

[-] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago

I think it means there's a least a modicum of self awareness that has formed. It's a crack in the conservative brainwashing armor. They at least know they need to hide it.

You're not going to peel off most or even many of them, but all we need is them to say "meh, I'll just go do X instead of voting for Trump on Tuesday".

The margins are slim enough to make a difference.

[-] GladiusB@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

They are aware there is an "after" they need to be at least thinking about.

That picture of Trump is the most terrifying I’ve seen of him ever.
