Is a Wish logarithm like...the Wish version of an algorithm?

[-] thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago

It's an algorithm that records its progress and any errors to a text file.

[-] RandomVideos@programming.dev 9 points 1 month ago

The first algorithm was created by someone named Algo Rithm

The part of the story that isnt often mentioned is that Loga, his sister helped create it. The bother tried to take all the credit for the creation and almost succeeded

The sister, mad that her contributions were taken by her brother without being credited, created the logarithm

[-] rockerface@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

Now, you're memeing, but algorithms are actually named after a guy named Muhammad Algorithm

[-] Sonotsugipaa@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

We can compromise and go for Logorythms, and hand the two companies to evil Steve Jobs

In the kink community in my area it's a common joke that the ven diagram of people who play D&D and people who are kinky is just a circle.

Its not actually true, but it does feel like it is lol. If you need a thing to talk about, bringing up D&D almost always gets people engaged in conversation

[-] AlligatorBlizzard@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

Now I really need to find a D&D group to join, lol.

[-] mEEGal@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

tread carefully.

bringing up DnD got me kicked out of a very promising orgy once. do not recommend

[-] cley_faye@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I assume kinky people that are not D&D players just haven't tried it. And D&D players that aren't kinky… well, same.

Up vote on title alone

[-] Ultraviolet@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

There is much, much more overlap between them than you may think.

[-] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 month ago

I used to do leathercraft commissions. My best customers were LARPers ordering armour, scroll cases etc., and kinksters buying fancy collars, cuffs and harnesses. Sometimes these were the same people

[-] Machinist@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I can't stand the Florentine, I think it looks silly.

Also, kilts. I mean, I get the comfort and utility; but, I'm not a fan. Each to their own, have had great conversations with kilt wearers. I like my jeans and leather pants. Occasionally wear my ass-less chaps.

[-] Excrubulent@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 month ago

Nerds can be so freaky.

[-] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

Every ten times you search for dice it puts one vote in the dm category. The next time you need to search 100 times.

[-] gaiussabinus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

That's the best case Ontario

[-] kamen@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

An older reference, but a meritorious one. We will need to delve deeper into this dungeon to determine how you master it. Perhaps there's a tome of rules to guide our journey into this pursuit.

[-] LordWiggle@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Both. Just both.
