Yes and no. Networks had ads but cable began inserting their own ads in addition to the network ads. When I ran a company I did large media buys with cable companies. I would buy ads from the regional cable company which would air in between the national ads of Comedy Central, Discovery, etc.

I wish companies and people were held to the standards of their own arguments.

For example because X claimed they don't owe anything because they changed their name from Twitter, any business dealing with X would legally be allowed to use the same argument.

I think the problem is taking two separate photos from two different events on different days and thinking people would put them together.

I bet you could find all sorts of separate photos of musicians from different events where one has armor and another has a red cape.

I gain a lot.

The crazy thing was Vista was great with good hardware. The huge problem it had was strong security. Everything was locked down and required admin elevation to change.

You know how Linux requires su for every system change and everyone thinks that's fine? That was Vista but it enraged techies to click an ok box for su.

MacOS and iOS have Freebsd inside their kernel. The reason it doesn't appear to have been updated in ages is the problem listed by the OP: The BSD license meant that Apple could take without ever giving back. Which is what they did.

I replied to a post in a thread (about how my 15 year old burned DVDs were going bad and what I was doing to remedy it). The thread is still there but my post is gone. It wasn't an argument. It was a reply to someone asking for data backup options.

Some auto generated explanation from Lemmy would be nice like : post deleted by owner. Or posted deleted by moderator.
