"Abundant Life Christian School officials asked for prayers on Facebook."

Yeah, the fuck that'll help anyone. Abundant life my ass.

I've scoured the web for anything that resembles that line, and you're the only person that shows up with it. Translation looks like "please help", or "reading or living" in Bengali? Genuinely curious, really.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

I read it as "praise be Jesus"

[-] linkinkampf19@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

That make a lot more sense lol.

At a Christian school?! I thought prayers and bibles in every room prevented stuff like this?

[-] Cort@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

It's thoughts and prayers, but you're unlikely to get any critical thinking out of a Christian school.

[-] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I think they're pointing out that certain lawmakers want prayers and Bibles in every school.... To help prevent this

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

There weren't handguns hidden in the bibles.

[-] AmidFuror@fedia.io 35 points 1 week ago

No way to prevent this.

This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them.

I believe the vice president elect said we just needed to get over it.

Pull yourselves up by the bootstraps and deal with it, he said to the people who were shot and killed today. /s but yeah pretty much that.

Elect?

Someone hasn't been listening it the news. If you'd had you'd know that they're clearly already in power.

(I need you to click this link so fucking badly I'll kill your kids)

Welcome to late stage capitalism.

It’s god’s will. It’s punishment for the far right crazies.

CEOs, not children.

[-] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 week ago

Apparently a female shooter, that doesn't happen often.

[-] Hegar@fedia.io 18 points 1 week ago

One of the earliest widely publicized school shootings was a female shooter in San Diego, 1979. The shooter's explanation inspired the song "I don't like Mondays".

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

TIL Garfield went to high school in San Diego in the 70s

[-] aramis87@fedia.io 17 points 1 week ago

Does this count toward both the school shooting tally and the church shooting tally?

[-] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Im sure ending public education and switching to vouchers will help solve this.

[-] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I think the real solution is no media coverage and stop counting how many happen. It worked for covid....

/s if that wasn't clear.

[-] CatZoomies@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

“Fact of life”.

[-] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 1 week ago

Well I mean if it's a Christian school...
