You might think this is a joke but it's not I have 783 tabs open

[-] pizza_the_hutt@sh.itjust.works 38 points 5 days ago

There is this new browser feature called bookmarks that you may want to check out.

[-] Blackout@fedia.io 24 points 5 days ago

That's where I keep websites I will never look at again. When I retire I will finally sort my unsorted folder

[-] rockerface@lemm.ee 13 points 5 days ago

nah the browser devs gave up and added tab groups for us

[-] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago

I’m gonna get shot for this, but Safari has tab groups and they’re fucking awesome especially if your have an iPhone, mac, and iPad or more.

[-] Blackout@fedia.io 9 points 5 days ago

Sweet summer child, did you just get that computer?

[-] OmegaLemmy@discuss.online 7 points 5 days ago

I tried using next to build a site, then Hugo, then I had a fuck load of Wikipedia sites, then I did wordpress development and just opened new tabs whenever I wanted to navigate the CMS (I hate CMS)

Reply to me if you want a screenshot of how that looks like

Oh I believe you. Every time I start a project I can't bare to close anything that could be useful. Never find it again.

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 27 points 5 days ago

(the project was masturbating)

[-] bhamlin@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

And I guess you were just sitting there watching it have a good time?

[-] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Well of course! I'm not a rude guest, pilfering their food and leaving before the evening's climax...

[-] Yeller_king@reddthat.com 9 points 4 days ago

Did you finish the project or just finally decide to quit?

[-] rcbrk@lemmy.ml 9 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

sudo userdel -r project_tmp
joker in dark knight just after the pencil trick - it's gone

[-] Harvey656@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Haha I'm not closing those they going to a group and get forgotten.

[-] veganpizza69@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

We need a Tab Day.

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 6 points 5 days ago

something ain't quite right.

gotta fix it.

got the tab with what i need right h...oshitfml.

[-] GluWu@lemm.ee 5 points 5 days ago

Even though it pains my soul, I close all my tabs at the end of the day at work. That way I get paid to find the same stuff the next day.

[-] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 4 points 5 days ago

People with hundreds of open tabs are insane. How could anyone actually live like that while still being sane?

[-] Atherel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Look at it as temporary bookmarks. As it is tradition in IT, there is nothing as final as a temporary solution.

[-] RisingSwell@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 days ago

ADHD can often result in several hundred tabs

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 days ago

Tree Style Tabs/Sidebery and multiple windows.

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 days ago

Who says i'm sane?

[-] sit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago
[-] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 5 days ago

With a tab searching extension, and understanding the whole setof tabs as a work stack. At least that's how I've always treated it, though I rarely make it over 100 tabs anymore

[-] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 4 points 5 days ago

I finally did it. I maxed out my tabs on iPhone Safari.

[-] BorgDrone@lemmy.one 4 points 5 days ago

I don’t close tabs, I just open new ones for the next project.

Someday a archeologist will be able to write a paper on life in the 21st century after excavating my collection of open tabs.

[-] thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I only ever start fresh if I need something and it’s left the mental context I bookmark it. There’s no reason to have 10 million tabs open lol

[-] nifty@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

Well look at you with your reasonable demeanor and what not, lah de dah

[-] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 days ago

You guys close tabs?

[-] 299792458ms@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

Whenever I have to many things open I closed the mall and start again, very lazy but it works.

[-] lapislazuli@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 days ago

Six tabs, take or leave it.
