Summary

Rudy Giuliani was found in contempt of court for failing to comply with evidence requests in a $148 million defamation case brought by two Georgia election workers.

The judge ruled Giuliani "willfully violated" court orders, including missing a deadline to provide evidence about whether his Palm Beach condo is a primary residence or a vacation home subject to seizure.

Giuliani has surrendered some assets but failed to provide key items, such as sports memorabilia and cash account details.

A trial is set for later this month to resolve the asset dispute.

I've stopped doing Rikers, but I do need to revive my special alt-Riker for this...

[-] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 13 points 4 days ago

Why have you stopped? It’s become a lemmy staple.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago

The election sort of ruined it for me.

It is less fun when Number One aims his trombone at us.

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Better get used to some number twos aimed at you.

I’m out of the loop. Can I get an article or explanation, please?

So Jonathan Frakes didn’t do something crazy this election? I’m so confused why FlyingSquid can’t or doesn’t use the meme anymore.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It’s a meme of him playing the trumpet. He’s not using it because it’s been overused to portray something that is funny / sad for the person in the article. They are just making fun of the meme without using it, it’s not related to the article other than someone playing a sad trumpet sound.

In other words, no one feels bad for guiliani

Thank you. I appreciate the context! I saw the memes, but if it was overused then I get it.

perfection.

[-] Trabic@lemm.ee 1 points 3 days ago

Somehow I doubt he has gotten the message.

He’s losing this case on the merits, frankly the judge is being too lenient on him since he’s a former lawyer and prosecutor who definitely knows better but is lying anyway, but his lawyer and publicist are telling the reporters after court that this is all a liberal witch hunt.
