Doesn't matter, I have no idea who the user is.

I asked the same question on the Void comm here, no replies ๐Ÿ˜’.

Some people just don't get it, some subs will never shift over to Lemmy... ever. The Void sub is a perfect example, their sub is their help/troubleshooting forum. It's a means to an end for them and the maintainers will never ever shift over here. Too unstable and unusuable for them. Basically, they don't care about reddit policy or API pricing, it doesn't affect them, it's a niche sub. And the number of people on Lemmy that use Void is... just close to none... and even if there are some, they probably don't know how to fix the problem I've been having since I asked and there were no replies. I litelarly copy/pasted the same title and text there, on reddit whwn I asked the question.

You don't see the problem here... I'm sorry, I just can't see a common ground on which we can discuss this problem.

And I have shared info for free as well, wheter it be reddit or some other place, doesn't matter... and I will continue to do it... and it will never ever occur to me to delete said data from any site or social media, forum, whatever. Data and info is just too valuable IMO and not you or me has the right to remove it once it's been shared. That's my stand on things. Most people won't agree with this, but this is my reasoning.

If your only outlet is your infant son, you have a bigger problem pal.

I actually don't give in that easy. I could have used Google Pay a lot earlier, like years ago. But I didn't. I even dealt with cash only for the longest time, until some stores just stopped accepting cash ๐Ÿคท.

You know how I joined reddit? None of the reasons everyone else might have, it just looked like a cool place. No one uses it where I live, except a few hundred people.

That being said, this was after years and years of me leeching off of comments on reddit. So, I thought I'd give the community something back... it's only fair. I come from the forum scene, that's how forums work. And let's be honest, no matter how much we started hating a place, we never did this back in the day. Why? The info shared in those posts is probably more valuable than whatever we're trying to achieve by doing this.

Of course, it's your choice, your account. I'm just saying that I think it's selfish and mean and that I would never do it. The free flow of info is what keeps the net going. You start tempering with that and you're just fueling more users into mass media (if everyone did this, users can't find any info about anything they're troubleshooting and just return to doomscrolling on FB/IG/Twitter).

I never got paid for anything either, but neither did everyone else that helped me over the years.

Of course, the choice is yours, but it's not OK IMO.

Me as well. I've been in situations where complete strangers online have answered and helped me so many times regarding problems I've had, so I've tried to return the favor through reddit and other platforms. I have no intention of doing this, this is just... mean IMO. You open the link in hope of finding an answer and you run into... this ๐Ÿ˜’.

Sure, I use them, but I have a good reason why I started using them. I lost my plastic 3 times in one year. I have a small kid, he's glued to me, whether it be the market or the playground, doesn't matter, he's always with me. He distracts me all the time (aways asking questions), so I just forget to take my plastic sometimes ๐Ÿคท.

So, even though I was against it, I decided to use Google Pay (now Wallet). I rarely forget my phone (only when I leave home, so it's at home), plus it's big and bulky, you notice it missing sooner than a piece of plastic.

If there are any FOSS alternatives, I'd gladly use them, but as far as I know, there are none ๐Ÿคท.

I am surrounded by people who like me, I am myself in front of them, they know how fucked up I can be. The problem is everyone else in my life that I have to put on a face to get by the day. Work is a perfect example. Like I really wanna murder (or at least hit really hard) that brainless little readhead from HR that still doesn't understand how to open up a folder (explained 20 times over), so bugs me to do it, cuz it's too much of an embarresment to tell her colleagues to do it... that sort of thing.

And you can't yell at her, cuz she's in HR ๐Ÿ˜’.

Not that I hate myself, I'm just weird (like positive vibes weird, but still weird), so shit doesn't always play out like I want it to... like the interviewer may have a nice rack, and her nipples may be showing cuz the AC in the room is set to "dante's hell" temp, so... I just stare at them. I don't want to, but I can't bring myself not to do it... and then the questions go by and I space out and then I'm excised from the interview.

This totally never happend, just a theoretical example ๐Ÿ‘€.
