I saw a trailer before it came out, but it may have been in the context of how much of a guardians knockoff it was.

I'll go watch some Prince of Persia gameplay this morning!

Casual gamer here. I'd heard of Concord. Never knew another Prince of Persia game even existed.

I'm thinking several people didn't realize that he was talking about food

This is way more accurate than that urban dictionary.

In Hawaii (depending on where you are) shaka is used all the time. Kinda like waving to someone with a hint of good vibe to it. Also to emphasize "hey that's cool". You see it a lot waving thanks to cars, too

the fact that Musk referenced Blade Runner at least twice in his presentation.

While specifically refering to the image

When the image appears on the screen, he says, "we didn't want the blade runner future. Well, maybe that cool duster he's wearing." So anyone there would likely assume that the image is from Blade Runner. The intent of the image was Blade Runner.

It really comes down to what bubble they happen to be a part of.

She tore Trump apart. "Unfortunate" was absolutely the wrong headline. There's so much gold here, and they went for the safe word.

How about "Arnold Palmer was appalled by Trump, according to daughter"

“My father was very modest,” Peggy continued. “We’ve lost our sense of outrage in this country over just about everything, and I’m not sure that’s OK

My dad didn’t like people who act like they’re better than other people,” she said. "He didn’t like it when people were nasty and rude. He didn’t like it when someone was disrespectful to someone else. My dad had no patience for people who demean other people in public. He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat. My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character.”

I was just making a joke, but no, the subtext of it was that everyone thinks you're weird or otherwise off-putting, so they don't engage with you.

But there's plenty of reasons why they wouldn't correct you. Maybe they thought it was funny, or hated the boss too, I don't know!

And maybe don't expect a farewell card!
