oh wow, not sure what was said but thankfully I'm lazy and hadn't replied to that person in another post I still had up (science post I was gonna answer their incredulous questions in case they just didn't understand but I see now it's just a troll account). Looks like they got site banned but it's unfortunately the shitty way where you can't see anything they did to know what happened.
I always thought it was such a weirdly-cute thing personally. Like, "Let's go Brandon" kinda feels uplifting (especially with how everyone uses it out of context to show excitement now) and I have no idea how any of it was suppose to be a dig at the guy.
I think my minds just confused and needing to recenter to the new normal at this point. ITT we have "constitutional citizens" going after Trump and Left-wing Preppers not realizing they've joined the community already.
I doubt every company who shits on it's user's privacy and their preferred experience is gaining massive profits right now, we're just discussing the successful ones. I think the two leading factors in this scenario are "Brand Recognition" and "double dipping into as many aspects as possible with your user's data." The whole 'if it's free', apple is definitely getting a kick back sending all this data to them even if it's "secure".
seeing a blank comment, what do I do with that information to fix it?
I don't think it's fair to say "once again a headline on lemmy", by connotation you're vaguely suggesting Lemmy is responsible.
I'm a big settings person as well but honestly Apple is a fucking evil genius at hiding options in menus within menus. Plus this was an opt-change done randomly in the middle of "nobody knows", I don't check all of my settings and their subsequent menus daily for any changes being made.
I'm just flabbergasted by the whole apple industry though. Like it's obvious when a company wants to offer a new user experience (their newest innovative design!), and it's obvious when a company wants to only tailor to "Their preferred vision of what an apple user and their experience should be". No one asked for this shit, and it's being shoved down everyone's throats.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I still watch people walk into a Dollar General knowing how crappy that company acts and how much more costly everything is. We're all slowly being pigeon holed into a "unified user experience" and it's the shittiest outcome.
I wonder if you would be able to smell the different layers unique flavors as eras favor a certain alcohol cocktail over another. Could have a really famous scientist in 1,000 years that could tell you within a 20 year time period what layer some sediment came from by just taking a whiff.
oh lol definitely not, it was a response to "trump is unaguably worse on healthcare than anyone else on the ballot". Meaning the Libertarian healthcare platform is abysmal and I believe they were on mostly all the national ballots so he had at least some competition for being the "worse".
edit: a word
I just don't get why we're not training and endorsing out the next group with all this press. Sanders and Warren need to back and/or start a coalition of progressive up-and-coming leaders that they can help hone and introduce to the larger political landscape while they have the energy and influence. They need to stop being the only torch bearers and start bringing in underlings. Idc if they follow them around like a posse, might actually be better if they did. I would cuddle with Sanders all night if I could, I'm just tired of his name being the only one catching attention. The will try to bury any movement with him when his time comes, best to get ahead of it so momentum can keep going.
I remember growing up in the 90's and being acutely aware of the growing minimum wage. I knew no matter what that when I was able to get a job I would be guaranteed "this" amount and always thought about prices and how long I had to work to get something I wanted when I was an adult. Every small bump made it a little mini-celebration like I was getting a future raise that would allow me to have a better life.
Now? Shake and bake costs over 5$, I have to literally work over an hour to buy half a cup of "convenient" seasoned bread crumbs. I could buy the flour, make the bread, and process it to make my own... but now I'm out of time in the day to work enough to actually afford the meat or any other side item. Oh yeah, and at some point I should pay my bills and save for retirement -_-
I gotta say, this article makes me feel sane again.
I swear I need to make a log or something at this point for when this inevitably gets brought up so I can just paste links. I frequent any community and respectfully disagree all the time. I have one moderation from when I first started and didn't "respectfully" comment (making pooh jokes, I wasn't trying to engage seriously in a discussion and back the mod action).
Let's make this easy, show me one example of what you're talking about so my mind can be changed.
